We stayed here for 2 nights on the last leg of our trip of Italy and Amsterdam. The hotel was very nice and the staff were very helpful. The location is right around the corner from a train stop and it was fairly easy to get around to all the main attractions. Next time I visit I think I would...

Great hotel, well located, very clean, stylish and not expensive. That sums it up what else do you need? We moved from a 4 star hotel we didn't like to this 3 star tat deserves te 4 stars. By te way great tratoria close to the hotel, Tratoria Pretoriana.

We recently stayed at the Hotel Canada for 3 nights whilst touring Rome. When we arrived the reception was friendly and they took our bags to the room. The lift is very tiny but fun (well I thought so). We stayed in double Queen room and both the room and bathroom were very clean. There were plenty of towels and...

I can't believe anyone things the service at this hotel is good. They gave us an internet code, which didn't work. They claimed it was our fault. Then, they said it was only good on the first device (my husband's phone) we used. I wanted to skype on our computer, so, have many trips to the loby, they finally gave...

We selected this hotel because of its high ratings on Trip Advisor, and we were very pleased with our choice. As others have said, it's an easy walk from the Termini, and is right around the corner from a metro stop that takes to you to the Coloseum in about 5 minutes. Our room was on the 5th floor and...

After an early flight we very much appreciated the friendly welcome, the early room availability and the unexpected upgrade that was afforded to us upon our arrival at the Hotel Canada. The reception area was tatstefully decorated for Christmas and the large room exceeded our expectations, particularly the tiled floors and frescoes on the ceiling. It is also worth noting...

I stayed at this hotel for seven nights, based on the excellent TripAdvisor reviews. I was in no way disappointed. All the praise which is heaped upon this hotel is thoroughly deserved.

We spent just one night here after returning by train from the Amalfi coast. We did not like the location as much as where we had stayed earlier on our trip, near the Colosseum, but the hotel itself is outstanding. Our room was elegant with many nice touches. We definitely had the best breakfast by far of our 2 week...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In an elegant historic building in the centre of Rome, the Hotel Canada represents the outcome of Hoteliers' generations experience. It shows the ancient tradition of hospitality that renews itself every day. A recent refurbishment has rediscovered the original architecture of the building. It was constructed in 1870 in order to provide accommodation for officers from the nearby barracks of Castro Pretorio. The Hotel Canada is easily reachable from "Termini Station" (500 m), the most important station of the Eternal City and the main rail yard of Italy. This Station is well connected with both airports of Rome: Roma Leonardo da Vinci/ Fiumicino and Roma Ciampino. The Hotel Canada is located in an ideal spot to visit the very historic centre of Rome. It is close to the subway (Line B, Castro Pretorio's stop) that allows every guest to reach the downtown in just a few minutes. ... more   less
