I recently stayed at the Lord Byron in Rome. The hotel is in a secluded located near the Borgia Gardens. The big surprise was the restaurant. The owner told me that it had achieved Michelin two star status several years ago but he decided to forfeit the honor due to pricing. The food, ambience and service was wonderful. It was...

Where to start? We had emailed the hotel to arrange a lift from the airport, and as promised there was our driver waiting for us. The journey was about 50 minutes but it was the rush hour. As soon as we entered the hotel, we were struck but its class and elegance. Check in was quick and efficient and we...

Hotel and service was fantastic, The location is a 25 minute walk into Rome through the park. Breakfast and Dinner was great, the Hotel suits a couple on a romantic weekend break more than it would a family holiday I think. Really nice stay, thanks

Dear Mr. Tyler, thank you very much for the positive feedback on Tripadvisor. It was very pleasing to read that you enjoyed your stay, the buffet breakfast and the dinner as well. We are also happy that you took advantage of the nice and healthy walk inside Villa Borghese Gardens, one of the largest public park in Rome, discovering its...

The hotel is a converted mansion. The rooms are modern and hi tech. It looks like you are in a ship. The location is far from tourist attractions, daily cost with Taxi around 50 to 80 EUR for two back and forth trips to the city. The breakfast room is in the basement with no windows. Alltogether it is suitable...

YOLO, Carpe Diem, Live for Today - whatever. The older I get, the more I think these expressions are less sybaritic and more a guide as to how to conclude one's existence on this lonely planet. There are no guarantees in life so why hold anything back at this almost post 65 stage which I am at along with millions...

We stayed in the hotel in October. The room we stayed in was nice but the AC had been turned off. The only way to sleep is to have the window open. Unfortunately we were eaten by mosquitos and room was to hot to sleep in. Staff was entirely unhelpful about the situation involving the heat and said the AC...

This hotel is located in a quiet, relatively secluded part of the city but not too not far from the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. If you don't mind the walk you could reach the Spanish Steps in about 30 minutes and the Trevi Fountain in another 15 or so.On a nice day it is a great walk through the...

This is an exceptional hotel. Great staff, super-comfy rooms, not large but adequate and nicely boldly furnished, Limited but very pleasant public spaces with an intimate restaurent and bar area. Our evening meal , sprung on the staff at short notice , was amazing though it did involves revolving our lounge bar drinks table into a dining table. Another staff...

Staying in Parioli

Neighbourhood Profile
Parioli
Young and well-to-do families are the street flavour of Parioli. A new kind of Rome, this area is centuries away from the Renaissance with its pockets of 1930s palaces, tony boutiques, open-air markets and plenty of coffee shops. Parioli was built as an enclave for last century’s haute bourgeois and still represents as such in 21st century Rome. Need a break? The area has several great sporting clubs known for tennis and riding, a wonderful modern art museum, easy access to the zoo (Europe’s oldest), and is nestled around Rome’s very best parks including Villa Borghese, Villa Ada and Villa Glori.
