Located a block from Rome's main train station we had a small bit of time to explore and we like classic hotels demonstrating the elegance of Rome over decades. Stumbled into the hotel because it looked and is elegant. Asked for a place to dine and the response was certainly your table is waiting. So 14 stores up to the...

This hotel was our best choice ever. The location is perfect, the art deco style bulilding is wonderful. We've got a suite on the top with an own balcony. It was an incredible view to the entire city with sunset... Everything was luxury, perfect clean, pro staff. The restaurant on the top is unforgettable...

We stayed 2 nights as part of an Insight "Highlights of Europe. The Mediterraneo is a grand old hotel with large lobby, expansive reception desk, and a lovely breakfast room which served a delicious hot breakfast. Our large, quiet room on the sixth floor contained a king size bed and an updated marble bathroom. The room was a bit "tired"...

The reception could not talk english and they are talking with writing stuffs in papers. You feel like u were in ice age. The room is not modern. Wifi is middle quality. The breakfast is very poor and does not have variety.

Stayed at this charming hotel for 4 days. Professional check in. Good breakfast and super cappuccino. The room was large, clean and everything you could ever dream of. Next time I visit Rome, I will again stay at this hotel.

This is a large hotel with a sister hotel next door and across the street. For the size I expected better quality. The front desk staff was dismissive and not forthcoming with any helpful information. We had to carry our own luggage to our room which was originally a smoking room on the first floor with a window facing a...

Bathroom with no lock. No tea or coffee maker. Run down furnishings. Overall, not a pleasant experience. Only plus point is the location. When I booked the hotel, it showed a large room with 1 double and 2 single beds. Upon arrival I was offered a small room with 3 tiny single beds.

The main beauty of this hotel is - above anything - it's location right next to the Termini station - you can go anywhere from here. Most of the major attractions of Rome can be reached conveniently with a short Metro ride from here. It took me less than 15 minutes from my hotel room to the steps at Piazza...

This hotel is an old charm hotel, very close to the main train terminal and the tour bus stop so it is very convenient to get away. We booked this hotel due to the location that enable us to walk to the train terminal to catch our train to Venice - piece of cake! We also were impressed with their...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
