Stayed 3 nights, it was in a great location to see all the main sites in Rome as you were able to walk to everything. The hostel staff were really friendly and helpful and the place itself was nice and clean. Was a great place to stay

Me and a friend stayed here for two nights. It was close to the train station, metro line and bus stops. The staff was sooooo nice. The staff pulled a map out and showed us everything we would need to know. Where we were. Where to eat. Where to shop. Where the closest metro and bus stops were. They went...

One of the best hostels I have stayed in. The staff was really friendly and ready to go a mile for your satisfaction. Location is very central and walking distance from most of the attractions in the city.

My husband and I stayed at this hostel for 4 nights in a 2 double bed room. The room was very clean as well as the bathroom. The room had four large lockers but did not include locks. Breakfast was very minimal (toast and cereal) but there is a large fridge, sink and stove in the kitchen. We did not...

Stayed at this property for 3 nights during a solo trip of Europe Location: 10 minute walk from Termini station and also at a decent walking distance from various landmarks (Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon, Colosseum). The closest metro station is about 5 minutes away. The area is very safe, perhaps due to the nearby American embassy. There aren't that many...

I stayed at La Controra Hostel for 6 nights during May 2015. I really enjoyed my time here. The hostel is divided into 2 floors. The reception and some rooms are on the top floor and the rest of the rooms on the next floor down. Everywhere in the hostel was very clean, the bathroom being much nicer than I...

It is an excellent place. It is very near the Termini Station, within walk distance. The room is very nice, clean and comfortable. The rooms on the 3rd floor are much better than the rooms on the 1st floor, however with a same price. Wifi is not so good. The location is good, environment is safe.

Overall this is a good small hostel located in a quiet area of Rome away from the main sites. It is about a 15-20min walk to the centre of Rome (e.g. Pantheon, main restaurants, shopping areas etc.). The nearest metro station is Barberini which is about a 5min walk. This is handy for travelling to the Colosseum and Vatican. Positives:...

I stayed here on a vacation alone May 16th-18th. The location of this hostel was perfect for me. It was close to the train station but also close to Bernini square and quite centrally located. I felt very safe, and the building was quaint. I stayed in a 3 person mixed dorm with a shared bathroom. I had hot water...

It would have been a 5-star review had I not been placed in a room next to the living room. It was a bit difficult to find this hostel in the beginning. I was arriving from Termini, and I don't know how many people I had to ask where Via Umbria was, but very few people knew where this street...

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
