We chose Sofitel for our honeymoon start in Rome. We stayed for 5 nights and had a blast. The hotel is charming and the service couldn't be better. You do have to go up a hill when coming back, but it's worthy. The restaurant on too has an amazing view of Rome. Highly recommended for those who want to experience...

We stayed here in July 2011. Room was fantastic! View was to die for! And the rooftop bar made for one of the most wonderful sunsets we have ever experienced! Will stay here again!

This has to be one of the most comfortable hotels I have ever stayed in. Feather beds, Egyptian cotton sheets, Hermes toiletries, quiet and private room, extravagant breakfast buffet and a roof-top restaurant overlooking Rome with views that make the trip unforgettable. Service was professional and welcoming. We were sorry to leave!

The location is great, walking distance to (some 10 min.) to Piazza Spagna or even to the Fontana di Trevi. Hotel as such and room was very nice. They only called me in the middle of the night by mistake advising that there was a car waiting for me...

The moment you walk into this hotel it smells amazing! They use some kind of scented oil which I tried to purchase for home use, but alas, it is not available. The front desk staff is very helpful with everything, including dinner reservations, where to go and what to do. Their command of English is excellent. Our room was a...

This was our first trip to Rome and what a lovely hotel. Excellent luxury room - newly decorated. Huge walk-in closet with safe and mini bar. Separate lounge area with a sleeper sofa. Nice bathroom with rainshower and deep tub. Big king size bed with lots of pillows. 2 flat screen tv's. Bose docking station. Nice linens. We had room...

We booked 3 nights in a luxury room with either a view of Rome or the Gardens at the Sofitel Villa Borghese after our cruise ended in Rome, and had reasonably high expectations of a 5 star hotel in a large hotel group. It wasn't a great start as when we arrived the room wasn't ready and two hours later...

This is a great hotel to base your stay visiting rome. The rooms are very comfortable, decorated in traditional Italian style. Great views from the restaurant on the top floor. This is the place to stay in Rome.

Room 609 is an excellent luxury room with a wonderful view across the city from Borghese Park past St. Peter's Basilica. It has 2 small balconies. The room is very comfortable, especially the bed and pillows. The bath has a rain shower within, a nice touch. The "free" Internet is disappointing; slow and non existent often. There is a cable...

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
