This was my third Sofitel hotel experience and the best so far. I have previously stayed at their St James location in London and at their Washington DC location just off La Fayette Square. Everything however at this Sofitel just seems to come together from the service to the rooms to the location. The rooms at the Roma location are an...

Wonderful for a special occasion, otherwise somewhat expensive as you are paying for items rarely used such as a Bose ipod dock or large screen tv. Rome is a city to be visited not be locked away in a hotel fancy hotel room. The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff attentive and helpful but unobtrusive. The views of St...

We Cannot wait to go back to Sofitel, the terrace & views from it are simply devine whether it's night or day, overlooking the Villa Borghese gardens & the city of Rome. We received the most amazing service and our wedding celebration meal was held for 20 guests on the terrace, all of which were extremely complimentary on the service...

Am astonished by the number of excellent reviews on this hotel. I spent 3 nights here in Sept 2011 and wasn't very impressed by the hotel at all, save for the winsome buffet spread at breakfast and the Hermès toiletries provided by the hotel, which smelt and felt absolutely divine, both of which are admittedly the best I have come...

I'm a big fan of Sofitel and I tend to compare all their properties to thier London St. James hotel (where I stay most often). First, the location is excellent; Spanish Steps, Borghese, etc. Rooms are nice and quiet. Need some updates/maintainence (cracking wallpaper, rotted wood in the bath) but very comfortable. Phone system and Internet leave something to be...

Just returned from Rome last week and my boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at the Sofitel. We stayed a week at the Sofitel and enjoyed our spacious very clean room. The hotel is located in a quiet area that is hidden away from tourists. There are tons of coffee shops and restaurants in the area. And of course,...

Just left Roma and the Sofitel 2 days ago, and it was tough to leave them both. I really don't have a lot to add to others' raves (wonderful is wonderful), but nevertheless I will add my two cents. We had a beautiful, large, CLEAN room. The bed was super comfortable. We were a little concerned when we saw that...

The Sofitel is a beautiful hotel located near the Villa Borghese and Via Veneto. The lobby is elegant and understated, and the staff is professional and accomodating. We arrived at around 9:30 a.m. after a long flight from Denver. Unfortunately, since we arrived so early, our room wasn't available. We used the restroom to freshen up as much as we...

We stayed three nights at the Sofitel, which is in the Villa Borghese/Via Veneto area of Rome. Upon arrival at this lovely, elegant hotel, we were warmly greeted by all the staff. Our room was fantastic. The location was nice and quiet at night and the staff were excellent in anticipating and fulfilling our requests. We have absolutely no complaints...

It is clean and well kept. We like the Sofitel chain and the high standards of service and quality associated with this brand.

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
