Clean, but it needs some updates and repairs in rooms. Good breakfast. Very convenient located - walking distance to the most important attractions of Rome. Also, a lot of options for public transportation within few meters from the hotel.

Absolutely great experience. It is not far in walking distance to The Vatican . The hotel is clean and people do speak good english there. We had breakfast provided while we were there and it was little something to eat for everyone to enjoy. I had eggs and plum cake.

The nice thing about Hotel Cicerone is that it's nearby to shops and eateries. The room is clean; bathroom needs some updating, but still clean. Water pressure in the shower was strong and great massage therapy. But no place to put shampoo. Shower is rather small for American standards. The room itself was okay, had a balcony (I believe most...

Hotel Cicerone is about average in terms of European hotels. It's a bit tired in terms of decor, some carpets are a bit frayed, and the rooms are serviceable and a decent size, but nothing to write home about. The daily breakfast is adequate, but most days of our seven-night stay, the service staff was inadequate, meaning you often had...

No major complaints, but no major compliments either. Adequate room, adequate staff, excellent location. I'm assuming that they do well largely because their location is extremely convenient for tourists. Barely functional WiFi. Was a bit surprised that they have a very unsafe elevator; hopefully that is a temporary thing that they are planning to fix.

People always make the difference. The people working at Hotel Cicerone were helpful, friendly, and cared for the guests and each other. That said, the room was a bit rough around the edges, needing cosmetic maintenance. Kept clean and comfortable from noise, it would be nicer to control the temperature. So three stars hotel. Four stars people and location. I'd...

This place preys on tour groups. Want a comfortable room with air conditioning then open the window as commanded. Want a better breakfast too bad but don't dare enter then non-tour guest breakfast room for much better food. Want a cordial staff member then your flat out of luck. Want updated decor and furnishings then you must go elsewhere of...

We stayed here for two nights with our tour group. The lifts were so dangerous. The doors just shut on you. There was no sensor in the lift at all. The other lift just didn't work. We had no wifi in our room at all. Half the door frame came off on us. The bathroom was so small the whole...

Stayed here at the beginning and end of our Italian tour with Globus. The hotel is sub par and definitely not 4 Star. Room on the street was noisy and hot. AC wasn't working and we got a ton of mosquito bites because we had the window open. Asked for ice and got attitude; in stead of "yes sir we'll...

My mom and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with a large tour group. Our room was ok, but the bed was very uncomfortable and the temperature could only be adjusted by opening the window. The internet service was only available in the lobby and was very unreliable. However, the worst part of our stay was our experience...

Staying in Prati

Neighbourhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Cicerone hotel is a large, bright, modern building perfectly inserted in the nineteenth century architectural style of the Prati district. In spite of its large size the hotel is very warm and welcoming providing a very comfortable environment for guests. Communal areas are filled with elegant sofas and all those small touches usually found in smaller boutique hotels. ... more   less
