Hotel Selene was what we expected: clean, quiet, and really, really convenient. We could roll our bags from Termini in about 10 minutes and found some good restaurants in the neighborhood, as well as some other sights (e.g. Santa Maria Maggiore, Museo Nazionale). Good breakfast and helpful desk staff.

We booked Comfort double room for 3 nights as there are so many good reviews of this hotel and location is also very good considering that Termini station is just behind the corner. When we were escorted to a room it looked nice and cozy, even with music on. But only after few minutes when I wanted to turn of...

My husband and I would certainly stay here again! Our first trip to Rome, we stayed for 7 nights at the end of March into April and had a super experience. Hotel Selene is in an excellent location; easy walk (few blocks) to Termini station, Republic Plaza, National Museum and Baths of Diocletian. Getting to public transportation is very easy....

Perfect location. Walking distance to all main sights. Railway station very close and plenty of restaurants to chose from near by. Room was lovely and staff were helpful in telling us how to get to different places. Only problem was that the shower had no glass or curtain so water got everywhere. Breakfast was decent enough, coffee could be better!...

Stayed here from 7/04-11/04 for a trip to Rome. Room is nice and bed is comfy however due to curtain over bed it was quite dusty. View from window also not very nice. The bathroom is very badly laid out, you cannot open the door fully as it hits the bidet. The shower takes ages to heat up from freezing...

The location was very good for us, considering that we came from Termini Station but in the same time close to all the tourist attraction of the city. The staff was very friendly and the room was nice and clean.

Good location, tasty breakfast, clean and comfortable room, fast Wi-Fi, hospitable and responsive staff. There was only one small problem with electronic key - sometimes it worked not properly. Interior design looks exactly like at photos. We really enjoyed our stay here!

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
