We spent three nights at the Sonya on our first trip to Rome in October, 2017. We selected it based on its proximity to Termimi since we were coming from the airport and then taking the train to Venice. We did not do our homework...More
Hotel Sonya is directly across from the Opera House and an easy walk to the train. The hotel had nice furnishings in the room, toiletries in the bathroom. The wait staff is what really set it apart . Breakfast was hearty and I really appreciated...More
We enjoyed staying 4 nights in Hotel Sonya in November, 2017. We appreciated the nearness to Termini Station, the excellent staff and the good value! There were plenty of places to eat nearby and also just a short walk to the Hop-On, Hop-Off Bus.
We stayed all over Italy and Sicily for three weeks. We would favorably compare any stay we had including the Italian Riviera. They are walking distance to half of Rome attractions, two blocks from hop on hop off stops, and serve a very nice breakfast....More
Hotel Sonya is in a wonderful central location - just a few blocks from Termini Station. The hotel itself is charming. Please note the rooms are small by USA standards, but most hotels in Europe are the same. Breakfast is great - nice egg casserole...More

Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up
basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
