I stayed here two years ago with a group and was very happy with the location (3 blocks to the train station), staff, facility and breakfast. The roof top Breakfast was wonderful. The area was safe with a good selection of restaurants in the area.

We recently stayed at the Hotel Diana Roof Garden in Rome. The check-in staff did not make us feel welcome, which was so much at odds with the reception we received at another hotel only a few weeks before. You might then ask why change hotels, it was because our friends had booked at the Diana and as it was...

Dear Garry, we regret to know that you didn't experience the best stay and we apologize for any mistakes by our side. Regarding the air conditioning, we are proudly an eco-friendly hotel, our respect and care for the enviroment lead us towards solutions with low impact and low energy waste. Which means that yes, in the middle of October which...

The room was an ok size and of course the bathroom was small as in most Italian Hotels. We had a small balcony that we didn't request but it was good. Didn't really need air conditioning but didn't need blankets either. The small fridge didn't keep anything cold but was stocked with water and a package of cookies and chips...

We had a triple room. There was plenty of space for 3 people. Even had tea/coffee facilities in our room - a rarity in Italy. That's the good points. The bad points are: the internet works only sometimes and slowly; the breakfasts are average, not good. The view from the top of the Garden Roof restaurant is superb. A good...

Stayed across the street - on a whim saw they had a rooftop garden and went to check it out. Amazing view of Rome. Climb the little staircase to get to the highest point on the roof and WOW you will love it. Even if it's a little chilly, they have tons of blankets waiting for guest use. Bartender was...

Clean, slightly upscale, marble bathroom, etc. Slow elevator, but the stairs were handy. Quiet, even on the street side. I'd say average food in the restaurant which was never crowded except at breakfast. A bit far from many of the popular attractions.

Visited for 7 nights to celebrate my birthday. Ideal location in city centre, 2 minutes walk from Termini Station. Lovely room with balcony, very comfortable. Hotel staff could not have been more helpful, anything we asked for was actioned very promptly. Roof garden a real treat, especially at night with illuminated view (albeit distant) of the Vatican and Santa Maria...

Firstly it's very easy to walk to from Station Termini to the hotel. The actual road is not the greatest but the entrance and reception area are very clean. The lift is slow but in part that's due to people pressing the wrong button or walking away before the lift arrives. This means you stop at practically every floor. The...

Dear Peter, thanks for all your nice words, and apologize for any misunderstanding. We just wished to point out that the 6 euro to be paid at the check out is the Council Tax for the city of Rome, the same city tax that you should pay in all the main cities of the world. Basing on your review it...

We stayed at this hotel in September for one night only. The room we stayed in has not been refurbished in a very long time and the bathroom is extremely dated. The second bedroom was not made up and no curtains on any windows just sheer curtains. We were right on the alleyway and when the restaurant finished all we...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
