Stayed here for 3 nights, it's in a good location near the train station, and round the corner from the hop on hop off buses. The hotel has a strange layout and lift but once you get past that it's fine. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Rooms were old fashioned but very clean.

Great staff, very kind and helpful. 5 stars people always ready to help 24/7 Good breakfast. The bathroom was so tiny you could almost fit. Small TV, but that wasn't a priority. Clean and near the Termini station.

Hotel is in a great location, a very short walk to Termini Station. We arrived quite late in the evening, there was an older gentleman at the reception desk, He didn't speak English, didn't smile, but he got us checked in and showed us to our room. The room was dated, linens worn and the tv was a postage stamp,...

It is close of termini station at about 5 min walk. No beggars or anything around. The zone were the hotel is placed is packed with other hotels and restaurants . Friendly staff and very good breakfast ( 7.30_9.30 am) . We don't usually eat breakfast but in Rome you have to do what the romans do :D. Our room...

Just returned from New Years Eve in Rome, and stopped at the Cambridge Hotel. Yes the Hotel is basic. But the location is excellent, within 5 minute walk from the Terminal Train Station. Yes in and around the Terminal train station there are lots of people who are homeless, but again I guess so in most major cities. And especially...

The Hotel Cambridge is comfortable, clean and well-appointed. The staff are friendly, efficient and helpful. The breakfasts are exactly what you'd expect from a Roman hotel and the coffee is to die for! My stay was excellent value and I would recommend the Cambridge to anyone making a business trip to Rome, especially if they need to be close to...

So far, so awful! Not much more I can say at the moment. Feel like we are staying in a nasty cheap hostel with doors that don't feel secure! Not good as a daughter visiting with her pensioner mother! We were moved to a lower floor on the third night which was much better...more modern spacious rooms with a bathroom...

We stayed at Hotel Cambridge for 5 nights in August and found it within 5 minutes of arriving at Rome's Termini Station. This, we thought, was a great start to our break however we later realised that a more central location (closer to the Pantheon perhaps) would have been more convenient. That being said, the location of Hotel Cambridge was...

Of course it is not the Hotel Hassler, but for the price around 50, 60 Euro for a single room in the summer season (July) it´s absolutely OK. Rooms are clean, with air condition and good WiFi, and close to the hotel are several restaurants and shops. The area around the station is often mentioned as not really safe, but...

On a 4 day city break to Rome we stayed at the Hotel Cambridge. Location is minutes away from the Termini train station in a quiet side street close to good amenities. The staff all speak very good English and although the rooms are fairly small, they are comfortable with air conditioning/fridge and take security very seriously. There is a...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
