We were traveling to rome with friends and had a 4 night stay in this hotel. It was small, clean and suitable for those who are planning to spend most of their day outside. Rooms were cleaned every day and we always had fresh towels in our room. Shower is small, but it's not a problem for a small vacation....

The hotel was fine for what I needed as a solo traveller, but I think my room may have been a broom cupboard in a former life..! It was really tiny and certainly not one they would post photos of online! The walls must be very thin as I could hear everything going on in neighbouring rooms and from outside...

Athena hotel is not what I was expecting after booking on priceline. The rooms were basic, and too the horror of my fiance, who has really bad stomach issues, there was no door to the bathroom(only a sliding partition thing.) The bed was quite uncomfortable as well and the area is near a loud college, which could keep light sleepers...

First time in Rome, first hotel in Rome! The simplest accommodation ever, but overall I needed it just for refreshening and sleeping. There was a big kingsize bed only for me :) I liked their breakfast, again simple, but I did enjoy it with its fresh yogurts and tasty biscottate ❤️ The location was also good. A few minutes walk...

Upon arrival I've received room without air conditioning despite it was stated in the booking. The room where clean and the location is ok, 7 min walk from Policlinco metro station. Overall could stay again if need be.

You sought of know what to expect based upon the room rate you pay, and this hotel was not luxurious but met the family' expectations. Firstly it was safe, hotel was 10 minutes walk from underground, which was safe to walk to at all times with children. Secondly it was hygienic. Room was clean, air conditioning had an annoying water...

This is an older but clean and well-run hotel which is a little way away from Rome's main attractions. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Hotel is close to the uni so there are some great value food and drink venues nearby.

Room was clean and kinda spacious, toilette being small tho. The sink wasn't even in the bathroom. Big and cozy bed. Working air conditioning. Room included balcony. Near two metro stations so location is ok. Breakfast was okay; bread, youghurt, pastries etc.. no fruit or vegetable tho.. that was a little bit of a disappoiment. reception open 24/7.

The hotel is very simple but good! The room is small but comfortable. The wifi signal is good even in the room! The staff is amazing: very friendly and helpful making you feel like you are home. The location is okay, even though it is not in the historic center of Roma, it is in a safe and pleasant university...

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo may look all street with its pulse in urban art and street food, but don’t be fooled. This gritty student neighbourhood immediately east of Termini train station is on the avant-garde rise. Art galleries, curated mural projects by artists like Rome’s favorite Alice, charming cafes, and boutique restaurants are slowly infiltrating the streets of San Lorenzo with counter-culture chic. Don’t worry, San Lorenzo still retains its local vibe with weekend festivals and demonstrations, and is always a hub for Rome’s university student scene.
