In an excellent location, a few minutes walk from the station yet quiet with good restaurants nearby. The highlight for me was the roof terrace on the same level as the breakfast room. (In hotels this size, breakfast is often in the artificially-lit basement.) There is a good selection at the breakfast buffet while the coffee, freshly prepared, is excellent....

We are a family of two adults and two teenagers staying four nights in Rome. All had a good time in this hotel - small enough to get personal, friendly staff, a superb Roman roof terrace to enjoy breakfast and relax with some reading and a coffee later in the day. Rooms were clean and nice. Located in a street...

We stayed here as my husband was doing the Rome Marathon and it was also our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. From the moment we arrived we were thoroughly impressed. Wonderful warm welcome from Verena who told us we had been given a room upgrade. Our room was fabulous with its own little outside terrace. Breakfast on the roof terrace was great with...

Quite a good hotel, we were a little surprised to be honest. Not sure what to expect when booking online, we got a good room, nice and quiet. Bit stuffy which seems normal for European rooms this time of year, got a fan which did the trick. Friendly staff, good central location with quality restaurants nearby.

This hotel is excellent placed for taking the train straight in from the airport. It´s also a stones throw from the center so you don´t need to use taxis. Service is excellent, and they will help you with bookings, and directions. Lovely roof terrace for breakfast or aperitivo in the evening. This is the 2nd time staying here, and it´s...

We have just returned from a four night stay, celebrating my husband's birthday. Our room was lovely, breakfast was very good and the staff were all very friendly. We would definitely stay there again. When we got back from our day out, a card had been left for my husband, wishing him happy birthday and offering us a complimentary glass...

We returned to hotel Columbia for a second time ,on this occasion with other members of our family. Ideally situated just a few minutes walk from the termini and several metro stations ,and within walking distance of most of the main sights- although it is just far enough away from the tourist hotspots to make eating and drinking out inexpensive...

We only stayed one night at this very nice hotel, en route to other destinations. It is very conveniently located to the railway station and to buses, yet the street itself was quiet during the night. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the room very clean. We enjoyed a good breakfast on the terrace - ample food and...

Stayed at this hotel for the rugby weekend. Great place to stay very central to sites and train station. Staff were fantastic especially the lady on reception during the evening, made you feel at home and special, nothing was too much for her. The hotel was clean and breakfast was very good. Could not fault. We stayed on the 2nd...

The employees at this hotel are fantastic people! It is a rather small hotel, so the employees will get to know you right away. That is a good thing, because they are very attentive. They go the extra mile to help you with your tourist plans, find a nice meal, and enjoy every aspect of your stay. I especially want...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
