We spent three nights at the Varese. Hotel is clean and staff are friendly and helpful. Hotel has a great location about a 5 minute walk from the Termini station. This made getting around Rome very easy! Hotel also provided breakfast daily, which was a definite plus! Only negative was the shower which was on the small side. Overall, I would stay here again and highly recommend.
Very good standards. Location in the heart of Rome. Friendly staff and responsible. I will recommend to all my friends. I will go back again there. General Manager and Paolo from reception was very kind person.
Husband and I stayed here for 2 nights. Room was clean and tidy, staff were friendly and very accommodating, just a few things to note. Beds were as hard as a rock, pillows were flat, our shower was very small and it felt as though I was going to fall through the base of the bath, it wasn't very stable and I'm quite petite. Doors and walls are paper thin, the first night we stayed here, the couple in the room next to us were partying all night, watching videos loudly on there phones, felt like they were sitting just outside our doorway, I went and checked and nope they weren't, they were in there room. Breakfast was delicious but not much to choose from, eggs, toast, croissants and some fruit, enough to get you through though and it was included. Anyways, apart from this, it wasn't too bad of a stay. Lovely, welcoming staff, close to transport about 15-20 mins drive to Vatican City and all the sights. Good base if you don't plan on being in your room the whole time.…
A great base for visiting Rome, especially for a weary traveller arriving at Termini Station and looking for convenience, great service and value for money (Varese is just a 5-minute walk north from Termini). The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming - grazie, Antonia, Daniele and Massimiliano!
We selected this hotel due to its rating on TA and proximity to Roma Termini as we were taking the train RT Roma Termini to Lecce. We really enjoyed this hotel which is about an 8-minute walk to Roma Termini. It was very clean, the bed was comfortable, WIFI worked great as did the air conditioning. Breakfast was great with a large selection. We had to leave very early for the train and they had a “bag breakfast” waiting for us which we ate on the train. Everyone there was extremely helpful and couldn’t do enough for you. If you need to be close to Roma Termini, definitely stay here!
We stayed for one night en route to Fiumicino. The staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke English. The room was comfortable and very clean. You could notify details of dietary requirements via a QR code after registration and excellent GF bread was supplied at breakfast. The location close to Termini was convenient and Via Varese is very quiet, unlike some streets near stations. When we come back to Rome we will seriously consider staying here again because the experience was so good.
The hotel staff is very kind and professional . They went out of their way to meet our needs. The hotel was clean, and the breakfast was good. It is in a very convenient location, close to the train station, and it felt like a safe neighborhood. It was a great value for the price.
Absolutely loved our stay at the Varese! Great location - very close to the Termini station. Good trattoria’s within blocks. Easy walk to all attractions. Clean room and great breakfast! Front desk staff superb- especially Livio. He went above and beyond to assist us. He arranged transportation to the airport and packed us a breakfast for the road. And at 5am had cappuccino ready for our departure. I would absolutely stay here again if visiting Rome.
I had a wonderful stay in this hotel and I’d love it so much! My room was just what I wanted, the General manager is a very nice person also the staff was very welcoming. It’s only two minutes away from the Termini station and for this reason I was able to hop around so quickly in the city
The Varese is a small hotel just a couple of blocks from the Rome Termini. If proximity to the train terminal is your primary requirement, the Varese is an excellent choice. However, the Termini area of Rome is the least attractive and least interesting neighborhood in Rome, and it definitely isn't any closer to the "main attractions" than other hotels in nicer areas. My memory of the Termini area is just an endless sea of tired tourists pulling heavy suitcases behind them. However, the front desk staff and the manager were so very welcoming and helpful, and I certainly appreciated that. Breakfasts here were not particularly interesting nor good, and when there are larger groups of people, it's a challenge to get a seating at one's desired time. The dining area is extremely small and not up to handling a full house.…
