No frills, but comfy, clean and good breakfast! Staff is kind and accommodating. Would stay here again in the future. One of the best pizza places in Rome, is around the corner. Look it up in any travel guide. Hotel is not in the historical...More
Just got back from a 3 night stay. The hotel was 2 minutes away from the main Trastevere area. Didn't hear any noise at night. It was clean, the staff were friendly, and the hotel felt very Italian, it was old fashioned but that's what...More
We recently stayed here for one night as our last night on a two-week trip to Italy. We found the hotel to be traditional yet very well-maintained. The hotel is located in a fun neighborhood with plenty of nightlife and interesting shopping. Wish we had...More
This place is in a great location for ATM machines, restaurants and the tram. The longer we stayed here the more I liked it and the neighborhood. Michelangelo had excellent advice whenever he was working the front desk and we loved his personality. Room was...More
Room was clean and comfortable and good value for money. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Room a little small for 2 large suitcases but this is Rome. There is a great food market on Fridays around the corner and a large number of non touristic...More

Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable
eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
Hotel Trastevere is a few minutes walk to buses and trams, there is also a light bus that goes to piazza garibaldi and continues to the Vatican. As for night life it's all literally just around the corner.....

We did the trip the other way around. Took the train from Civitavecchia to Trastevere and the tram from just outside the station to a short walk to the hotel. We had the hotel reserve a car for us to the airport on leaving so we were confident we would arrive in time. We each had a moderate size suitcase and are seniors, but managed fine. All the hotel staff are very helpful with any information.
