Hotel Grifo was a nice, comfortable, clean & reasonably priced place to stay in Rome. The location is great, and 10 min walk to Colosseum. The hotel is on a quiet street in Rome, with several excellent restaurants within a two block radius. The showers are a little dinky as other people commented on, but after three weeks in Italy,...

We traveled for about 3 weeks in Europe as a family of 4 - we have 2 adult children so we needed space for 4 adults. Rome was our third stop, and we stayed there 5 days. A friend recommended Hotel Grifo because of location and helpful staff. We didn't research the hotel at all and went on our friend's...

We travelled to Rome with our 20 year old son this spring. As there were three of us it was difficult to find a room big enough to accommodate all of us in such an expensive city as Rome. We were very satisfied with the family room at Hotel Grifo. It is actually two rooms with the bathroom across the...

We arrived at Hotel Grifo on our way out of Rome, returning to the states. The location is ok, a couple of blocks off Via Cavour near the Colliseum. The front desk staff were helpful, but the look of the public areas was institutional and depressing, with bare compact florescent bulbs everywhere. The decor of the sleeping room and bath...

The hotel is conveniently located near the sites that are a "must see" in Rome. We walked from the hotel most of the time around the area and there's a lot of restaurants to choose from, and little stores where you can get water much cheaper and miscellaneous things we need.   When you get to the hotel early, you...

I stayed at this hotel in a quad room /w balcony in May 2011. The room was spacious enough for the 4 of us (all women, ages 30-50). Bathroom a little small, but adequate. We had lovely views from the balcony and had the opportunity to eat lunch there one afternoon. The location could not be beat. We were just...

Stayed only one night but I would stay again for sure! Excellent staff, (Rosa) nice entry, clean rooms and a great morning breakfast. The room we had was small but there are larger rooms- besides we did it go there to stay in the room. The common balcony was really quaint and nice and charming. The best thing was location.

We stayed at this hotel five years ago, and liked it very much, so we rebooked. Big mistake! The only positives about this hotel are the friendly, helpful staff and its great location. Other than that: the rooms are filthy. Plumbing parts are missing. The throw rugs are stiff with dirt and look like they haven't ever been washed. All...

Dear madam we do not want to offend your memory abilities, but our breakfast has never had fruit and eggs. We serve a hearty continental buffet breakfast which is much appreciated by our customers as you could read in most comments. We are very sorry that you criticized our coffee and could not understand why you asked us every night...

Found this hotel on the reviews. Was looking for something affordable, comfortable and safe in Rome. This was it. While the rooms aren't 4 star, they are comfortable. We also had a balcony overlooking the street, which was wonderful to sip some wine and relax. The hotel is centrally located to most attractions. Friendly staff.
