After arriving at the Termini train station, we took a taxi to the Aberdeen Hotel. It is a lovely hotel with easy checkin. We didn't need to settle our account until the next day at checkout. We were given a suite with four beds as this was our last night in Italy and we were flying out of Rome the...

This is the second time we have stayed at the Aberdeen hotel and we are glad we did. Once again everything was great at this very clean, friendly hotel where all the staff are helpful and attentive to guests. We were fortunate to even have our room upgraded. The breakfast is ample and wonderful. The location is within walking distance...

This is my go to hotel in Rome for location as well as price to go along with a nice breakfast spread. Very friendly front desk at all times, who mentioned to me they remembered me and asked how many times I had stayed with them before. Only drawback is smallish sign outside that could be a bit hard to...

After arriving in Rome from the airport, I was able to check into my room at the Aberdeen before going about my first day in Italy. I began smelling pretty severe body odor while unpacking in my room and soon realized that it was coming from the bed spread. I was very disappointed, and surprised, that a hotel with such...

The Aberdeen Hotel is truly my home away from home. I love my visits to the Aberdeen and I love the ideal location. A quick 10 minute walk from the Roma Termini and easy access to the Metro and all buses right on the via Nazionale. The staff are like family; Mariano, Costel, Matteo, Cinzia, Viera, Ariel,Angela, and Raimondo all...

The Hotel Aberdeen was the first stop in a 12 day tour of Italy. It's a great location in Rome. Easy walking distance to the Borghese Gardens, Spanish Steps and the central train station and close to a major shopping area. The hotel is located across the street from the Ministry of Defense, so it's very safe and quiet. We...

Location is perfect for walking to most of Rome's sights. Wonderful staff. We didn't get to have breakfast here, but it smelled wonderful. Maybe next time. Room was comfortable and quiet, no disturbance at all during the night. Hot showers and a clean room overall.

This was the second time my Wife and I had stayed at the Aberdeen. We chose the Aberdeen because of the wonderful stay we had the first time. The Staff is very friendly and efficient. They make you feel like family. The price is very reasonable for what is provided. We will definitely use the Aberdeen whenever we are in...

Not very luxurious, but everything you need for a wee in Rome. Classic old building. Nice smiling and helpful people everywhere. And its not very expensive. The location is perfect for the big sights and also for the park surrounding villa Borghese. You have to walk to find a decent restaurant, but who cares.

The Aberdeen Hotel is right next to the Repubblica Metro Station which made getting around Rome fairly easy. The hotel itself is tucked into an alley and had I not looked at street view on Google maps I might have had trouble finding it. Once in the hotel the staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was sufficient. Good place...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
