This hotel is in the heart of the ancient Roman ruins. It is not fancy but truly a Roman experience and the staff is well-informed, very friendly and accommodating. There is breakfast there as well. Would not hesitate to return!

This Residence has an excellent location because is close to Rome´s downtown. I liked that the room was very complete specially because it has kitchen with fridge. The reception staff were very helpful.

This was on a side street behind the Palatine Hill and walking distance to the Forum and other sights.. We had a great view out our window of some historical sights and convenient to transportation if needed...Hotel staff very helpful and a quiet place to stay... Walking distance to Trastevere...We would definitely stay here again.

The Palazzo Al Velabro was the perfect location for us. We were easily able to get to all our destinations on foot, by bus, the subway as well as taxi. One minor challenge on arrival was that our taxi driver didn't know how to reach the front door of the Palazzo so we walked a short distance from the parking...

Palazzo Al Velabro is located close to all the action. We would often walk to the restaurants near the Coliseum. Getting the subway at Circo Massimo was only a few minutes walk away. We enjoyed our stay at the Palazzo

Good location. Wifi was very poor. The studio for 4 people we got was very nice and modern, with a great view. But still would have expected more from a hotel on this category. Staff was very friendly, though.

The Velabro is situated at the foot of the Palatine Hill, just a block from the Forum, a short walk to the Circus Maximus (and the metro stop not far from it). Walking distance to many sites on both sides of the river. Easy metro connections to the rest of the city. The staff were always attentive when asked for...

Very spacious one bedroom apartment with sofa bed. Staff were very friendly and always willing to help as we were first timers in Rome. Gave great advice and directions. Love the location as it was close by to the Colosseum and walking distance from all major attractions; Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Vatican, etc. Also served a very robust complimentary breakfast with...

We chose 2 bedroom apartments travelling with two teens. Got corner suite (43 and 44) floor 4. So had lounge kitchenette and 1 bedrooms and another separate bedroom bathroom. Split beds and moved one to lounge. So had. 3 bedrooms with privacy. Modern clean and close to colosseum and ceasar ruins. Recommend this to anyone with family.

Staying in Aventine

Neighbourhood Profile
Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighbourhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
