I was staying there with my family for two night. The place is very authentic and rooms are large and warm.We really liked the location, as it is straight in the heart of Vaticano. Around the hotel you can find many nice locals, were mostly dunning local people , as for me is very important.

We had a fantastic stay at this little boutique hotel, book early as word will soon get out, it was a fantastic find about 200m from St Peters square and a lovely walk (10 mins) to the Piazza Navona district with its great little restaurants . We stayed in suite XIV, with all the character and charm of an old...

We booked the larger suite at Excel for 2 weekend nights. It is a very unique location within the Vatican Walls, literally. It consists of 3 rooms, no on site staff (they meet you there at check-in). The interiors are well designed, however, very noisy from other guests. You can hear every little thing from other rooms (our neighbors shouted...

We booked 3 persons Suite for 2 persons use and it was very good accommodation. The location - you can never dream for better. Inside decor and inside view gives you an impression that you are somewhere in the middle ages. The same time the room has all you need: coffee machine, mini fridge etc. The breakfast was good enough...

We had the 1st floor room. (Suite xii, double/twin). The neighbours on this floor (Suite xiv have stairs to a 2nd floor bedroom, this room has a floor that is over the our bedroom and the noise if created passes through very easily. The downstairs room noise also passes up with the same ease. Our Neighbours below arrived late one...

We (wife, 13 year old daughter and myself) stayed here during August. We booked via Booking.com and was surprised that there were not many reviews on TA. However, based on the uniqueness of these apartments we went ahead and booked for 5 nights and was very pleased we did. The location to St Peters square is so close and we...

Just a few meters from St. Peter's Square. Rooms very comfortable, the only weak point is breakfest - you will get bored with the menu if stayed longer than two nights.

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighbourhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighbourhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighbourhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.

“XIV is on two levels a huge bedroom which has the three windows in the main picture of the hotel. Then stairs up to separate single bedroom and luxurious bathroom. The single bedroom does not have A/C but the master bedroom does. The windows are all doubled glazed so noise was never an issue. Very comfortable 7ft bed.”
