The B&B is located only 10 minutes walking from Rome Termini station, from where you can also reach the city center in 10 minutes with the metro or on foot. The surrounding is good, there are really many places to eat. Ask Alessia, for the bests in the neighborhood. The breakfast is included in the price, you get a big croissant and a large coffee in the Cafe on the next corner. It's enough to start the day.

The rooms located on the 1st floor of the building, but you can either use the stairs or the elevator to get there. Our room was small, but clean, and had everything for a good sleep. The bathroom is shared, but not occupied all day, because there are only a few rooms in this place. The bathroom is also clean, you get plenty of towels, and a hairdryer as well, so you can pack light for your trip.

To sum up: I can really recommend this place, the owner (Alessia) is a nice person and communicates well before the travel via the booking page. The prices are...

Max's House bed and breakfast proved not only a budget friendly accommodation but a truly homely and friendly experience. Max's is located via Tiburtina, a five minute walk to the central station. At first it can be a little hard to find as is the way in Italy but located on the 2nd floor, it is assessable by lift. The owners were very accommodating even if English was difficult. However, there attention to detail was great and the room, while not luxurious has a hotel, was comfortable, clean and well maintained. The bathrooms were shared and a little way down the hall were also clean and well maintained. Breakfast voucher was provided for the café next door. There are several eating option within the same street and a short walk around the station.

The sleep was relatively quiet for being in a city. Would I book here again, yes. It was one of the better budget accommodation that I stayed in while in Rome.

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo may look all street with its pulse in urban art and street food, but don’t be fooled. This gritty student neighbourhood immediately east of Termini train station is on the avant-garde rise. Art galleries, curated mural projects by artists like Rome’s favorite Alice, charming cafes, and boutique restaurants are slowly infiltrating the streets of San Lorenzo with counter-culture chic. Don’t worry, San Lorenzo still retains its local vibe with weekend festivals and demonstrations, and is always a hub for Rome’s university student scene.
