We were in the new inn, from june 30 to july 3. After the first night we recognised some red spots on our body and we got more itchy red spots from day to day. We didn't know what's the reason of that. We thought it's allergic. When we arrived home we went to the doctor and he immediately told us...

The bed in our room (310) was the most uncomfortable we have ever slept in. Lumpy mattress with what must be the cheapest, oldest, lumpy pillows. One pillow each with only one spare in the wardrobe which did not even have a cover on it. Socket coming away from wall. No hot water at the sink, which we told staff...

I stayed here in July of 2013. Let me explain how bad this place was. We get there and there is a post-it note on the front door of the building, with a random number and no explanation. Apparently the management of the hotel decided to leave and assumed that we would have access to a mobile phone in Italy....

We are in Rome and just left them. We made reservations in March, showed up and they let us know that our room was in another building but we couldn't stay there because the bathroom was broken. They then said come back later to check if they could find us another room. What else are we to do? Stranded in...

Never taken the trouble to review hotels before but do feel somewhat dissapointed with the New Inn. paid extra for a 'better ' room, and although it was clean, it was at best basic! According to web site it was sound-proofed, my room overlooking the main street was certainly not, trams and busses all night, as if in the room...

Really well kept clean hotel. Great location minutes from main station. Easy access to all of Rome and 30 minutes from airport!! Really pleased for a weekend break. Wifi is avaiable, needs improving. Other than that no other complaints!

If you are thinking of paying slightly more to have your own room, don't bother, you might as well stay in a 12 dorm room at a back packers. Could not sleep here at all as you can hear everyone coming and going through the night. When the door bell rings from the street it sounds like its right next...

We are a family of five and have just returned from a short break in Rome. We struggle to find a room to sleep five and historically do not have a huge choice. We loved this hotel, the room was clean and a good size with nice clean linen. The children (13,9,5) all had single beds to sleep in. The...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
