I will not recommend this hotel to anyone as they do not have even the decency to send a confirmation email. I made a booking and give a credit card to confirm it. They took so much time to handle the reservation that the expiry date of my CC has changed and they decide unilaterally to cancel the booking. Not...

Dear Guest, we are really sorry for what happened to you, but it was outside our control. We ensure you we take good care of our clients since the moment they choose us and decide to book a room at our place. Unfortunately your reservation has been handled by the booking website that you used to reserve your room and...

We were given a very nice quiet room with a large jacuzzi bath and a comfortable four-poster bed. The staff were friendly and helpful with good knowledge of English. They suggested a restaurant round the corner which had lovely food at a reasonable price, including gluten-free options. Breakfast of coffee and croissant was provided at a cafe a few metres...

Just returned from a 2 night stay at Baylon Suites and overall had a great time. The room was lovely, we had a room overlooking the lovely church and it was big and had a lovely 4 poster bed (that was super comfy) and the bathroom was lovely and had a fab power shower I didn't want to leave!! I...

There are good and bad points about Baylon Suites. Unfortunately, we were put in a dark, tiny "double" room for our first night. Even before we said anything when we were first shown in, the guy said, "don't worry we will move you tomorrow" - so it is obviously a known that this is a bit of a dud room....

The location in Trastevere was great. Close enough to walk into the city, but just slightly away from the chaos. They gave us an excellent recommendation for a Trattoria for dinner (Trattoria a Trastevere). The room was comfortable and stylish. Nothing bad to say really. The room was smallish and we paid more than elsewhere on our trip around Italy, but...

We loved the rooms, location, beds. Wi-Fi, price and the couple who own it! There were six of us, four adults and two teenagers. We had three bedrooms. The rooms are beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The rooms have been recently renovated...essentially brand new. The area around the hotel is vibrant, with many restaurants and attractions. A minimal breakfast is...

My Husband and I stayed here on a recent business trip to Rome. We had a lovely large room with a little balcony so we could see the sights of Trastevere. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept well. Coffee and tea making facilities in the room. Lovely shower which provided warm water for both of us when we...

We selected this hotel because it was close to family and overall we're pleased with the choice. It does not look like a hotel--it's really a small apartment building, and when we arrived we were perplexed about how to check in, but finally someone came by. Be prepared to phone the manager as there is no front desk. Minimal help...

The location is great and the decor is exactly as in the photos - very comfortable bed, has aircon but cool in hot weather anyway and our room has a huge Jucuzzi bath, which is an unexpected bonus! The breakfast timings are 6-10, which is helpful when trying to get to the major sight-seeing places before the thousands of tourists...

We spent a considerable amount of time researching where to stay in Rome and selected the Baylon Suites based on it's location and excellent reviews. We were given a warm welcome by Francesco who, on learning we only had 2 days in Rome, got straight into marking up a map and giving us an overview of a route that would...

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
