We have booked a private room for two. The room was not as clean as it seems in the photos and there was dirt in the floor of shower and the bed linens and towels were a bit smelly. There were two sockets in the room but one was a triple which was not compatible with our double plug and...

Right in the center of Rome. We stayed in the hostel for one night. It was a rather nice experience. The beds were comfy and sheets all very clean and fresh. There was hot water for the shower. But the problem was that the bathroom was a bit old and rusty at some places. It could definitely use a renovation.

I stayed in a private ensuite for three people. These types of rooms are located on a different building, which isolates them from the noise of reception and parties. The room was ok, wi-fi worked perfectly, hot water, comfortable beds and very good location next to Termini. The staff of the hostel was nice and helpful, so everything correct. We...

Walking distance from Termini train station and airport bus shuttle shops. Friendly staff, close to restaurants. Rooms upstairs in different apartments in the same building. Good option if you are staying for a night.

Taken 4 showers so far. 3 of them were cold, and the other one just decides to take a dump and not give you any consistent water. The younger staff members are more friendly and free wine from 7-9 everyday. Kitchen is pretty small but there are cheap pizzerias around this area so I didn't cook at all.

Really good location, cool staff, free breakfast and coffee, and the coolest travelers from all around the world. It's easy to make friendship there. We could drop off our baggage until checking in. And it has a lovely terrace. I had a tiny problem with hot water, it was quite random.

My partner and I booked a private room as we were travelling on a budget and hotels in Rome are just so expensive if you leave booking till quite late (as we did!). The hostel was in a great location, it was five minutes from the termini train station and within walking distance of the coliseum and other sights. We...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
