Firstly for me this was not a regular kind of hotel, its one floor of a building where there are numerous rooms. To be fair the business card says bed and breakfast, just depends what your definition of a hotel is. The plus points: good location ideally situated near the termini only a few minutes short walk, also close to...

I stayed twice, once into Rome and once out of Rome with my 82 year old father. Eduardo was a great help, the rooms clean, airconditioned. The location is great, close to the termini a two block walk or you can catch the bus. Eduardo was there to meet us even though we arrived during siesta and spoke good english...

Me and my boyfriend have stayed two nights and we were very pleased. The room and the bathroom were clean and spacious. The owner was very nice, he gave us maps, dvds, the table for buses. You can pay with the creditcard. The position of the Nazional Rooms is very central. It is a great place to stay. Also, the...

Stayed here for 2 nights at late Sept 2008 in a double room. The deal was 74euro per room per night with breakfast, which was very good value for money. The location is brillant, Via Nazionale is a busy road with loads of restaurants and bars, close to Repubblica metro station and just about 10mins walk (with luggage) from Rome...

Don't worry, they've now added an elevator, so the fourth floor location is no longer a problem. Even with the elevator, Eduardo the owner is so helpful and friendly that he met me downstairs to help with my luggage, and helped me again at check-out. The room was small but very clean, and the location is super-convenient, close to the...

Arrived at the hotel just after midday very hot and tired after a long journey to discover that our room was not yet available due to the air conditioning unit breaking earlier that day. We were disappointed but couldnt complain as we were given free lunch and a room to stay in over night at the George Byron hotel across...

This bed-and-breakfast room is perfect for families of fours. It is two blocks down the road of the Termini, but if you want to, you can take a one-stop Metro ride there. It is very clean and the high-ceiling makes it feel very roomy. The washroom is adequately sized with a hot-or-cold shower. Bonuses include a TV with free DVD...

My boyfriend and I have just returned from a 3 night stay in the Nazional rooms. It was a fantastic bargain and I would recommend. The room was perfect, a good size with a tv, DVD player and fridge. It had a very modern bathroom with a powerful hot shower. The location was fantastic and only a very short walk...

We stayed in this B&B for 2 nights end of December. The only complaint that we had was that we weren't woken up as we requested but it is a major complaint as due to it we missed our train to Florence. The guy said that our phone didn't ring and i really dont' know why he couldn't just knock...

In my opinion there has been too much fuss about the stairs, but this sheer fact shows how wonderful the place is: the only negative thing is the stairs! For the price range, you get a clean room, with great air-conditioning (a necessity in the sizzling July-August Rome which many other places with the same price refuse to provide unless...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

“We prepaid on the internet and asked for quiet rooms with views. All of us had a view of St. Peter's from the window. Loretta handled most of the coordination and we were happy with the care taken in the room selection. We were all on the same floor but my son's family has a baby and they had a perfect room for their situation; a kind of sitting room that allowed some separation from the crib provided by the hotel and their sleeping area.”
