By the other reviewers comments of this hotel it seemed like a no brainer. Once we got off the train and started walking in the direction of the hotel I was hoping our hotel was out of the neighborhood we were in. Well to my dismay it was not, it was in what seemed to be chinatown in Rome. All...

Hotel Taormina – Rome We stayed here for three nights and really liked the hotel itself, it was clean, the room large and bathroom great. The staff was beyond friendly and was always polite coming and going. When we walked into the hotel we saw three flights of stairs (no lift) and about walked out as we had very heavy...

Me and my friend have stayed here for four nights in the beginning of May 2012. The hotel is clean, modern, with a very friendly and helpful staff. We had windows facing the courtyard, so it was quiet as well. It's a ten minute walk to Colosseum, two mnute walk to an amazing ice cream parlour and further minute away...

Stayed for two nights, the hotel provided everything we needed. Clean, well decorated rooms. Staff were friendly and helpful, wifi was good. Location was close to town and we always felt safe. Downside: location is near train station but area was more asian than italian. The breakfast was very poor, just bread and jam, and the double bed was two...

The area doesnt look very good however felt safe. But then again 90% of Rome has graffiti and folk trying to tap u up. Hotel is really clean and hotel staff are very friendly and helpful especially toun lad on reception on an afternoon/evening who is originally from phillipines. Rooms overlooking the main street are a little bit noisy as...

Very clean, thin hard beds that were surprisingly comfortable! We had a room in the back, one of three that opened up to an interior patio, which was wonderful, given how dark the room was. Slept very well, quiet. Bathroom was fine, good shower. The breakfast catered to Germans, with many German breads. Coffee from a machine, a hard roll,...

This is the second time I stay at this hotel and I am not disappointed with the service provided by the staff. The breakfast is very basic. The room was very clean and quiet and the neighborhood is safe. The only thing that can make this hotel better is a lift if you stay on the third floor or above....

Great little hotel with fantastic modernised rooms and on suite bathrooms. Travelled to Rome with my boyfriend in March and really loved this hotel! Slightly out of the way from attractions although you can walk to the Spanish steps, Trevi fountain and the Colluseum within half an hour with ease and there are plenty of authentic Italian restraunts within walking...

We arrived to Termini station from Fiumicino airport thinking that the hotel was walking distance from Termini station as it was shown in the map that I printed off the hotel website. Although it is not far it is not easy to walk to the hotel from termini specially carrying luggage. It is only 1 tube station from Termini but...

I stayed at this hotel for three nights. There is a $2.00 per person per day fee for city taxes. The younger staff at the front desk was nice and helpful. The older front desk staff was not as friendly and not as helpful. Ask any of your questions to the younger person if possible. This hotel is on busy...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
