Stayed two nights at this place. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Decent facilities. Rooms are clean, lockers in good shape. Bedding and bunks are nice. Street is a bit loud, but when you close the window, it's quiet. The breakfast is at a nearby shop. You get your selection of pastry and coffee/juice. The hostel is right next to...

Good points - Close to Rome Termini railway station - 'Free' (included in the steep price of the room) mediocre breakfast 1 crossant + drink - Half of the receptionists are helpful Bad points - Poor security measures (front door to street is often open), no usable lockers for baggage - Poor organisation (signs are plain wrong) - More people...

I stayed for the 3rd time at the Pop Inn. It is just a few walking from the Termini train station (basically just across the road). Also the busses from the Ciampino Airport stop at Via Marsala. It is not the best area, but it is very quiet. Staff at the reception is very nice. They have the best map...

I stayed for 6 nights, good location and a walking distance to tourist center. The staffs are helpfull, give tips during your stay in Rome. It would be better to have a free WIFI.For backpackers looking for economic accommodation in the center of Rome (whilst everywhere is expensive), then it will be the place.

This hotel is way too expensive relatively to what it offers. First the decoration and the ambient are horrible (hideous red walls in the rooms and i prefer not talking about the toilets and bathroom) we had the feeling to enter in a squat while seeing the reception (opened dustbins in the hall entrance, very loud music at the reception)....

I booked 3 beds in a 5-bed dorm, and instead got beds in a 7-bed dorm, which cost less than that of the 5-bed dorm. The owner gave me the lame excuse that he gave us beds in the 7-bed dorm so we can all be together, and refused to refund us the difference in price. The showers were also...

Well this place was great,so easy to find when we first arrived, they gave us maps of the city and advice where to go in the city and directions showing us how best way to get around the city. We were really close to everything so we could just walk to all the sights, this way we managed to see...

If you like to share a toilet that doesn't flush with 20 other guests, a sink that's blocked and overflowing, and a freezing shower (I was just relieved water came out!), then this could be the place for you! If you like a hostel that promotes and sells tourist activities for a healthy commission (35% of the total in my...

Pop Inn may have improved since I was last staying at the hostel, but from the looks of the reviews here it doesn't seem to have done that. The hostel is incredibly over priced for what you get. We had a room for 4 (two double beds) and I swear we thought the beds might fall apart. The washroom was...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
