The Oceania is a lovely, quiet, well kept, delightful hotel. Walking distance to museums, the Forum, the Colosseum, shopping on Nazionale, the Trevi fountain, the Spanish Steps more shopping on Via Corso, the Campo di Fiori, the Pantheon, and of course outstanding restaurants. Close to the metro for a quick ride to the Vatican (and more great restaurants). The staff...

We stayed 6 nights and found this property to be perfect for our needs. It was clean and inexpensive and more roomy than places we have stayed in Paris for far more money. Breakfast was ample for continental fare and the beds were nice and firm. We asked for extra pillows which really helped as the first were pretty flat....

I became aware of this small hotel thru Rick Steves guide to Rome and fell in love on my own. The hotel is just a short walk from Roma Termini on Via Firenze. It is a couple of blocks away from the hustle and bustle of Via Nazionale in It's own quiet corner. The hotel occupies a floor in a...

Stayed here at the 2 nights at the beginning and one night at the end of our Italy holiday. Location is great for navigating all of Rome. Rooms were very comfortable. Breakfast was great. Staff was very friendly and took care of any needs.Would definitely stay here again.

We booked 2 rooms here in mid February though only for a night. What a quaint little hotel located on the 3rd floor of an old building! It had an antique lift (big enough for 2 people and some luggage), rooms were clean and spacious, and the beds were very firm (to our liking). Breakfast was nothing to shout about,...

We stayed for 3 nights early March and booked this hotel based on reviews here and on other sites. Before we arrived I arranged a surprise for my wife to be in our room as it was her birthday and the hotel were very accommodating and helpful. Location wise it is great just off one of the major roads in...

We stayed here for 6 nights mid February and was pleasantly surprised.. we didn't pay an arm and a leg but the quality of the hotel surpassed the cost in comparison to neighbouring hotels.. The room and the hotel was spotlessly clean and room service was excellent. The towels were changed every day and the room serviced daily to an...

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Oceania in early February (a great time to be in Rome if you dislike queuing up for everything). We have no complains about our stay at the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were super friendly and helpful and the location was great!. I note that other reviews have comments...

My family and I stayed at the Hotel Oceania for 3 nights between Christmas and New Year's 2016. What a wonderful experience! The room was spacious and comfortable and everything you would expect, but what set this hotel apart for me was the staff. They were so helpful and accommodating, even having breakfast for us at 4 am on our...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
