I booked through Expedia months ago as a surprise for my partners birthday and we were well looked after throughout. The streets surrounding the hotel are not the best but the hotel is beautiful in many ways and is a real gem amongst a run-down area. We were greeted by the receptionist who gave us our key, explained breakfast and...

Very nice hotel, with good staff and service. Rooms comfortable and with unexpected mini bar! Good selection at breakfast - meats, cheese, cereal, fruit, cakes, croissants etc. Tram stop nearby takes you to underground from where you can reach all of the sights, all for €1.50 each.

Me and my boyfriend had such an amazing hotel experience here. We booked for a week, and during that week every single member of staff went above and beyond for us. We was actually shocked how amazing everyone was. I would highly recommend staying here just for the customer service! There was a morning where the cafe was closed yet...

It's a lovely hotel, breakfast is the best i've ever had at a hotel. Spotlessly clean, staff are more than helpful. It was a tram journey away from the landmarks, such as the Colloseum, Vatican etc. The tram is cheap and easily accessible, but it makes you not want to leave the hotel at night time!! Rough area, quite on...

This was our second stay at Hotel Villa San Lorenzo Maria, and once again, the exceptional aspect of this hotel is the staff and their service. These people, especially the two gentlemen in the two front offices during the day, know exactly how to be helpful, friendly, hospitable hosts. They offered us free drinks when we arrived, helped us with...

My friend and I stayed for 10 days and loved the place. We arrived before our room was ready, however, the staff were so apologetic. We were given afternoon tea while a staff member gave us the run down on the local area and where to buy tickets for things. Everyone was very good at explaining how to get around...

I stayed here twice at the beginning and at the end of my recent holiday in Italy. I arrived after a long haul flight and the hotel staff were kind enough to arrange for my room to be ready early and welcomed me with a cappuccino and pastry. I was checking out on the day of the recent earthquake.... I...

I stayed here for 4 nights in late October early November, when we first arrived the staff were very friendly and helpful offering us maps and explaining local transport. We were a little bit disappointed with our room after seeing so many beautiful pictures online before we got there. Our room didn't have a window and was also very small...

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for two nights after a hicup when we first arrived. The manager at the time Alessandro APPOLLONI went out of his way to assist us when we arrived. After spending a night at another hotel nearby he advised us to ring him the next morning where he had fixed up the anomaly...

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo may look all street with its pulse in urban art and street food, but don’t be fooled. This gritty student neighbourhood immediately east of Termini train station is on the avant-garde rise. Art galleries, curated mural projects by artists like Rome’s favorite Alice, charming cafes, and boutique restaurants are slowly infiltrating the streets of San Lorenzo with counter-culture chic. Don’t worry, San Lorenzo still retains its local vibe with weekend festivals and demonstrations, and is always a hub for Rome’s university student scene.
