We are a family of four (2 kids ages 4 and 2 years) and we stayed here for three nights. On the third night at about 1am an alarm in the bathroom went off incessantly. I called the front desk but they couldn't fix it,...More

This trip is probably the 6th or 7th time we have stayed at the San Pio or one of its sister hotels on the Aventino.
It's 100% consistent - peaceful surroundings, good rooms (you should ask for a balcony), helpful staff and great value.
We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights while in Rome. We were lucky enough to get a room with a balcony which looked over all the orange and lemon trees in the courtyard. Were very impressed with the service, the location and the breakfast....More
We stayed for four nights, arriving by car. Even with the help of SATNAV, it proved tricky - the one-way grid street system was problematical, and the directions on the website included access via a street which has now been blocked off. The area is...More
This is certainly one of the best budget-hotels I stayed in in Rome. The rooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated. The location is wonderful, peaceful and quiet, nothing indicates that you're only a few minutes afway from the city center. The continental breakfast is good,...More

Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighbourhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find
a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
