The Hotel Aventino was a nice small hotel in the Ripa/Aventine region of the City. It was a short walk from the Circo Massimo underground station which can get you to the majority of the city and a plausible walk to the Colessum. If you want to stay near all the action then I wouldn't recommend it as it is...

Stayed at this hotel for our first wedding anniversary. Its a good 15 minute walk away from the hustle and bustle of the main Rome attractions, but you will want the peace and quiet after a busy day sightseeing. A street away from the Keyhole attraction and Gardens which give you a breathtaking view of Rome. The rooms are gorgeous,...

We were in Rome for just a weekend and there was a lot of sight seeing to be done. Very friendly helpful reception. Within half an hour of arriving our first tour was organised and taxi arranged. A tour to Tivoli was also organised for the Saturday. Our room was peaceful and decorated in typical Venetian style. The ensuite facilities...

Located on the quiet Aventine hill, just one street from the old Basilica di Santa Sabina all’Aventino, this very nice villa-hotel is a fantastic starting point for exploring the Eternal City. Breakfast is superfluous and a terrace in the hotel’s private garden is available to enjoy it. Well-furnished, clean, quiet and well air-conditioned room, with an adequate safe. Very friendly...

Staying in Aventine

Neighbourhood Profile
Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighbourhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
