Price was great. The staff was great and the area around the hotel is filled with bars, a pizza restaurant, a fish restaurant, fine dining (all quite cheap), a supermarket and just an 8-minute walk to the nearest metro station (Garbatella), which is 3-4 stops from Rome's center. Room was perfect, breakfast could be a bit more extensive. All in...

This is an old hotel that is about 20 minutes, by transit, outside the city centre. The room was a good size but dimly lit (always a concern for me). From the airport (FCO) you can take a non-express train to Ostiense station. In this station you can board the metro and take the subway one stop to Garbatella. When...

Main thing about this hotel is about the staff who look after you in anyway they can, Giorgio is the happiest and helpful person you ever meet he made our stay worth it, rooms are big and clean, cleaned once a day, balcony and terrace views are lovely, breakfast could be a bit better but that's only a minor detail,...

This hotel us in the Garbatella area, about 5 miles from centre of Rome. The area is lovely and quiet and the hotel is about a 10 minute walk from Metro station. The Metro is great to use and at €24 for a 7 day pass it is great value. The hotel is clean and tidy and the staff are...

We visited Rome as a couple and loved it. It was made extra special by the staff at the hotel and local eateries. Everyone made such an effort to look after us. The receptionist was brilliant and he was always ready to help. Easy to get to the city from here. Room was nice, we stayed for a week and...

Having read other reviews, we chose this hotel for a two day stay before going to Tuscany. The hotel was clean and spacious and located beside some lovely restaurants places to have a snack, all at very reasonable prices. We had our two sons with us and the room was more than adequate and air conditioned. What really made this...

Hotel Derby is not the most modern--it was not built in the 21st Century, but it provided us with a very enjoyable stay. It is the friendly, helpful and always pleasant staff that made it so. Breakfast is good, with sufficient choice. In addition to the eating places recommended by the other reviewers: I enjoyed the Sardi fish restaurant not...

Hotel Derby is a good hotel for the price. It's small and has a nice continental breakfast in the mornings. I recommend trying to stay on the 4th floor and getting the roof top balcony, the view of the neighborhood is amazing! It's less than a 10 minute walk from the train station as well.

Very nice hotel in a residential area in Rome. For Rome, the Hotel is affordable, and public transportation is very good in Rome, so anywhere is reachable from here. The staff is very professional and friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is a trattoria nearby with excellent Roman Cuisine if you are staying in the area. I was...
