the hotel is 10 mins by walk from the Rome central station. the sleep quality is poor as the railway tracks are nearby and the local trains run frequently in the night. the rooms are reasonably good, the staff is freindly but the service and the dining is poor

I had booked an additional night at the Center Hotel , to follow on after a small group tour booking. On checking in, I was told I had the same room for both nights, then about 10 mins later, I was told I would need to change rooms for the second night, then by that evening, I was told I...

I will start with the positives..... the staff were lovely - spoke great English and gave us directions to get into the centre of town. It was also very clean and we had new towels etc every day. It was about a 15 minute walk to the Colessium, or if you didn't want to walk there was a tube about...

This review is a little late, but here it is. I stayed here six months ago. The hotel was dark and somewhat dirty, The room reeked of raw sewage. There was a sign in the room that stated in three languages to call the front desk if there was a "suspicious intruder in your room" -sounds made up, but this...

Great location by the train station and metro even though you have to walk a bit (10 minutes). Room was cleaned every day, clean towels, gave you shampoo/soap/new towels every day, shower is a little tricky because it's teeny tiny (has great water pressure) but I'm 56 years old & fussy and I thought it was fine, wonderful continental breakfast,...

I must admit that I was pretty worried about booking this Hotel after reading the reviews, but I was more than pleasantly surprised, and I definitely recommend this hotel for people who plan on spending most of their time seeing the sites in Rome, and are looking for a simple, nice, clean place to rest their head. The staff was...

First of all the "location near Stazione Termini" is a lie as the hotel is located on the same street but at 1.6 miles from the station. On the second day the Nintendo of my child was stolen form the room. They "suggest" me to call the "Carabinieri" (Police). I did not as we could not waist our time filling...

Upon arrival at Center 1 I was directed to Center 2. Upon arrival at Center 2 I was told there was no room for me and I would be staying elsewhere. The receptionist marked a cross on a map and sent me on my way to a new, unknown hotel on a completely different street. I don't think this is...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
