We chose this hotel because it had a good location, close to the "termini" and with accesses to Rome's must see fairly close, and also because we were on a budget. But being on a budget and being this a budget hotel doesn't mean it should lack some essential features such as a comfortable bed (mattresses are in need of...

Hotel Ferrarese is conveniently located by the Termini station, it's in a complex with 4 other hotels & is located on the 4th floor so a lift is necessary with heavy bags. The room was very basic, the bathroom was compact, there's no tea or coffee making facilities, the beds were pretty uncomfortable & the noise disturbance from the corridors...

We stayed here for 3 nights. There were quite a few doors before you could get into guests' rooms. However, on the third night, there were someones opened our rooms without any prior notice or knocking (notice that we did lock the room). Fortunately, I could not have a deep sleep. I woke up and saw the door opened about...

I checked in about 1am in the morning and there were no extra fees, we told them earlier and there was someone waiting at the counter. Had an early flight at Fiumocino so had to leave by 3.30am and the guy at the counter woke up and help us arrange a taxi. But the place is quite creepy. Its shared...

I understand that this is a 2 star hotel, but that doesn't explain some of this hotel's features. First of all, the walls are extremely thin. At night, you can get absolutely everything in the corridors and rooms, making it very difficult to get to sleep. The air conditioning is not free, at €10 per night. Unfortunately, it is a...

This hotel is definitely budget..and by budget I mean you could have stayed in a backpackers in better condition! It's part of a complex of hotels and ferresse is on the 4th floor. If you like your showers cold, freezing cold or unbelievably cold well then you've found the right place! Also it's the size of a cupboard! Let's not...

The location of this two star hotel is situated in the second street from the termini station, it is very convenient to move about and to get back to the destinations after visiting the city. For the price you pay you get the satisfaction of the main requirements. The room with 4 beds is very big, clean, the bathroom I...

The room was small and dingy. The bathroom was so dirty my husband and I didn't take a shower in there as we felt it would be safer not to! No tea and coffee making facilities and no where in the hotel to even get a tea or a coffee. Felt uncomfortable using the small lift and the communal staircase...

Despite a really nice young lady on the desk when we arrived the hotel left a lot to be desired. Our room was situated right next to the reception, sharing a very thin wall with it. The room was clean and comfortable enough although almost no natural light, but the noise from the reception throughout the night was awful and...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
