This was our second stay at the Hotel Golden. We are in Rome once a year and after finding the Hotel Golden last year would never think of staying anywhere else. The location is perfect in a quiet residential area at the top of the Via Veneto, across from the Borghese gardens and Museum. Down the hill an underground escalator...

I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful this hotel is. The people are warm, helpful and sincere. They give excellent advice and service in planning outings, suggesting restaurants and activities. In addition to that, the rooms are clean and the breakfast is homemade and lovely. The location is a few steps away from the Via Veneto and a 10...

Hotel Golden is simply perfect. Great location, super clean, quiet and close to the hot spots of Rome. Borghese Villa is just around the corner, which offer an amazing view of the city. The owners are friendly, hospitable, and very helpful, Marco provided us a detailed map on which the must go in Rome was highlighted. Giuseppe is always happy...

Hotel Golden is in a lovely location, close to the Borghese Gardens and within easy walking distance of all the major attractions. We walked everywhere using the map provided by the hotel and the owners were always giving us very helpful tips on what to see and where to eat. The family who run the hotel are delightful; nothing is...

My husband, daughter and son-in-law and myself stayed 5 nights in May 2014 in what is called a family suite. It had 2 nice size bedrooms with one bath to share. The suite had a dining table that we could sit around and plan our next days activities. The hotel is in a very nice location in Rome and we...

Hotel Golden was friendly, helpful, clean, quiet and served a varied and delicious breakfast. It is a short walk from the delightful Borghese gardens and wonderful Borghese Gallery. The staff are welcoming, speak English, and are happy to make restaurant suggestions & reservations, and give other assistance. It is a perfect, peaceful haven in busy, bustling, beautiful Rome.

The breakfast is the best we had in Europe! Mark and his family are so nice! He helped us with our luggage even though we arrived late night. He gave my husband instruction about where to park the car. They provided us with lots of guides about traveling Roma, even laundry place.

Affordable and friendly. Ideally located. Family owned and operated. Wonderful homemade breakfast. The owners/operators/family were extremely helpful with directions, bus routes, restaurant suggestions, etc...they were delightful, warm, lovely people. Room set up/size varied...the double was pretty "tight", but who cares...all we did was sleep there. My parents are 70 plus and mobile, but the steps in and out of their...

If a quiet well located small hotel is what you are seeking then I suggest you make an early reservation at the Hotel Golden to secure your room. The family members who operate the hotel are all warm, friendly, and extremely helpful. A bonus is the wonderful breakfast prepared each morning by the family matriarch, an always smiling and cheerful...

We stayed at the Hotel Golden for three nights before a cruise in early May, 2014. I have titled my review "Optimal Hotel" because I was challenged to find a hotel in Rome that had good reviews, was affordable, and at a location where we could walk to many of Rome's attractions. This hotel fit the bill! Our room was...

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
