In twenty years of visiting Rome this is the worst hotel I have had the misfortune to stay in. The hotel is central enough and the secure entrance is secure during the day when asked who you are but at night you are just buzzed in. The staff on at night appear to find guests an inconvenience and seem less...

My husband, son and I stayed here for 7 nights and were very pleased. It was a typical European B&B type room that was clean, the staff were very pleasant and helpful, and the breakfast was a great way to start the day (delicious cappuccino!). You can't beat the location ... we were very close to the Ottaviano Metro station...

This is a quaint, family run hotel that is perfectly located close to the Vatican and a Metro Station (Ottaviano). To be honest, it's really just a B&B. With 5 or 6 small rooms, on one floor off the reception area. As there are only three tables, in a very small dining room/bar area, breakfast is a little chaotic in...

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and couldn't be more pleased. It was very clean, very quiet (low season at the end of Feb.) and it is close to the Vatican and the subway. The staff were always helpful and polite. The breakfast buffet had a very nice selection - I really liked the yogurt and the...

The best thing about Il Gattopardo Relais is the location, but there are  MANY bad things. Our family spent a week in three rooms, so we got to see a lot of the spaces. Pros -very close to the Vatican and the Ottaviano metro stop, which is admittedly very nice -the staff seem to try hard, according to their ability,...

Very nice B&B, with good service and kind personnel. Rooms always clean, fine bathrooms, tv. You can always have breakfast, when you want, without risking to miss it, if you have overslept. And, of course, the location is very central, 5 min to vatican, 2 steps to the metro Ottaviano. Lots of cafes nearby. My husband and I loved a...

Stayed with my son on a 3 day trip to Rome and chose this because of relatively positive tripadvisor reviews. We ended up staying in the room with the reception straight outside the door, this would have been acceptable if a lady on reception didnt have a screaming baby on her lap. In the room there were problems with numerous...

Spent 4 days at this hotell august 2011. The hotell has the best location, only 5 minutes walk from vatican city. Its close to the river, who had lots of entertainment at night in august (the romans has vacation at this time) The rooms were large and clean, breakfast very simple. They were very helpfull og kind, the elderly man...

This was an average place to stay while in Rome. The building is quite impressive when you walk in (marble staircase, statues). The rooms were clean and were a good size. There was a mini-fridge in the room with drinks/snacks (for a charge, of course). The biggest plus is that it is just a couple minutes away from the Metro...

A little hard to find this unconventional hotel as it looks like a residence. We stayed 5 days and could not find fault at all. Breakfast pleasant but not much choice, Located in a very good area close to the Vatican and near the metro, Coming back to this hotel was a pleasure. Avery nice restaurant is located a few...

Staying in Prati

Neighbourhood Profile
Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.

“Rooms at the front overlook a busy road so as long as you're happy to keep the windows closed with air con on you'll be fine. We asked for a quiet room which faced north, at the back, but it was cooler and had a little terrace.”
