I chose this hotel based upon okay reviews, price and location to train station. Here is the good: location to train station, price, free internet, helpful desk service. The negative: It was the smallest room I ever stayed in (about 10x12 and was very run down. I asked for a quad room. What I got was a room with one...

We stayed for one night at the Hotel Centro at the beginning of a 2 week trip around Europe. This hotel is a great bargain (under 100 euros) in Rome! The standard room was typical for Rome (smaller than US, but plenty comfortable for 2 people). The rooms are very well appointed, and the hotel seems to have been recently...

We stayed in this hotel for six nights in November and then returned for an additional three nights. We booked through venere.com. Well pleased with the service from venere. You only pay at the end of your hotel stay. We were placed in the same room on both occasions and it was on the fourth floor and was very quiet....

Stayed at the hotel for 1 week in October/November of last year. Good hotel, clean and our room was spacious. Loved hearing the church bells chiming a fun song every supper time. There is a grocery store on the next block(very convenient), loads of restaurants close by (the tiny Chinese one across the street is super cheap and very tasty),...

We went to Rome for two nights and chose Hotel Centro after reading about it on Tripadvisor. It was lovely! The staff we met at the hotel was excellent. They were very nice and helpful. The breakfast was a lot better than we expected after reading about it on Tripadvisor. We had fresh fruit, fresh croissants and bread rolls, nutella,...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
