After 5 years I returned to my one true travel love, the eternal city of Rome. Not much had changed, the station got bigger and more modern but the traffic as crazy as ever. I found hotel fiorenza one back street away from the back of the station, located in a typical roman town house, with old fashioned elevator and...

A few blocks away from Termini station with surprisingly good restaurants and cafes near by this hotel was a good stay. The staff was helpful and friendly, the rooms clean and mostly everything worked. The negatives must be the leaking toilet and awkward shower.

Very smelly bathroom, we had our own in the room, not a good choice. Well cleaned though. A part of the door fell of. Very small window. Ok bed, nice and hard madras, but even though we asked for a matrimonial bed we got two in the opposite end of the room. So we started with refurnishing. The day staff...

Spent two nights at this hotel. I cannot fault how clean and tidy it was and the beds were very comfortable. Water pressure was poor meaning washing took a while longer and the shower wasn't great but ample. The staff did their bit but I felt they could have been more helpful and a smile wouldn't go amiss. The place...

Good hotel, near the Termini station, with low price and cafe close to the hotel (every morning started with great coffee). Staff very helpful, friendly, you can get a map with all directions, rooms cleaned in time, good wifi. Had a great time.

The best thing was the breakfast - croissant and coffee/juice in the cafe close to the hotel. Location close to the Termini Station is also nice, especially if you arrive in the middle of the night ;) Fan included. Negative is that you have to leave a key at the reception when you're going out. Bathroom really small, needs renovation....

Luckily we spent just one night in this horrible hotel. We missed the flight and booked another one for next day, so I looked on Booking.com to find hotel near Roma Termini Station just for that night. When we arrived the guy at the reception was sleeping and didn't know anything about our booking. He checked the mailbox and say...

I booked this hotel because it has a great location (near train station) and the price is great. However, the hotel is not great. It's terrible. The room is tiny, no a/c, the window opens but no airflow comes through and the beds are springy. The checkin clerk was very nice, but the night clerk was rude and unfriendly. You...

Good location, near Termini station. Easy walk to the poi's. Hotel clean, no luxury. Fridge on the room. Checkout TERRIBLE, first few days friendly staff. Last day on checkout, rude, unfriendly, incompetent man at the reception. Only pay cash, he told us. We had a plane to catch so no time to go to the ATM. After 15 minutes of...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
