Budget hotel, spacious convenient room well heated and bright (two large windows). Price a little better than surrounding hotels (where I stay often) but not worth the quality difference. Minimal unhealthy breakfast. Organizational problems... Rooms facing the open internal space smell from restaurants in ground floor. When I pointed that to the landlady and said that I will leave the...

A nice clean hotel near the train station. The rooms are on the 6th floor and there is a lift, the lift is very narrow about the wide of a large suitcase. The staff were friendly and showed me to my room. The rom (no.32) was adequate size for a solo traveller. The room had a safe, refrigerator wardrobe and...

Easy to find. Very tiny old fashioned lift that fits 3 people and just about got our suitcase in. Hotel is on 6th floor but this is noted in the lift. Just remember to close both doors for the lift to work and afterwards otherwise it does not register as not being in use if the door is left open....

Don't understand the negative comments about this hotel. All worked well with reception, they speak little English and understood my rusty Italian :-) The lift is small but so what. What I appreciate most is the cleanliness of the place. Very clean and nice bathrooms. Air-conditioning works. You can go for breakfast at anytime and their coffee is great. Super...

First of all, this is not a hotel. This is rented rooms in the 6th floor of a building with an elevator 1x3 where two people can enter unless one of them is kinda fat, so if you have a travel suitcase with you get ready to put your physical condition to the test. There is not a reception, just...

We spend 5 nights here recently in one of the rooms with a separate semi outside seating area. We room was nice and roomy. Only drawback was the very hard beds, this resulted in a lot broken nights. Breakfast was good and the people are very nice.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
