I was in Rome for 1 night for personal reasons and needed a place close to Roma Termini. I really need to learn to read more reviews because this place gave me the creeps. As a solo female traveller, I did not feel comfortable at all. Also, to add to it, the room had no lock, it was noisy and...

The location was pretty good, since it's right across from the train station and right where the airport buses pick you up, but I would not stay here again. It appears that the "bed and breakfast" means that these people rent out their bedrooms, and when they have guests, they sleep on the floor of the kitchen, which is separated...

I was visiting Rome on my own for three days. I arrived having already booked at hi! Termini for a double room. When I arrived I was unable to enter the building leaving me stranded on the street. After phoning the hotel on my mobile I waited for someone to turn up, after nearly an hour of standing on the...

This place is right across the railway station from where you can also board the buses for either of the 2 airports in Rome. In other words, excellent location: walkable from most of the must-sees (given Rome's public transport is confusing), cosmopolitan neighborhood, perpetually crowded, cheap food joints...but the accommodation is not great! I don't want to sound too complaining,...

The location is excellent- right opposite the termini station. I totally agree with Natalie_farah, apart from the location there was nothing I would recommend. Despite mailing them a week in advance and further reminding them about out arrival details the day prior, there was no one to assist us with our check in. None of their phones were working so we...

We actually booked with Christina Dependence, but were checked into Termini B&B. Not that I really care since we booked a double-room ensuite and got just that, but the shower was rubbish, even after we asked about turning up (on?) the hot water. Noisy location (expected) and very close to Termini, restaurants and walkable distance to Piazza Spagna (20 mins),...

Me and my boyfriend stayed at this property for 4 nights in March 2012 and except for the location, there is nothing positive to say. First, it took us hours to find the so-called reception. At the address of the property, there were noone who knew where we can check in so we kept looking and asking around. Finally we...

I have stayed at this B&B between the 12th and the 18th September 2007 with my girlfriend. Since we wanted to spend a lot of time outside in order to properly visit Rome, we were not interested in luxury accomodation and this accomodation was perfect since it was not expensive (80 EUR per night per room during September which is...

There is a lift to get the bags to the 1st floor. Breakfast is via a voucher to a breakfast place nearby. There is a fridge in the room. First time I have ever had a B&B ask me to fill out a Satisfaction Survey asking for suggestions. They only have 3 rooms so book early. The innkeeper made us...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
