I was hesitant at first when going to a women only hostel. I thought it would be quite strict but was pleasantly surprised to find the exact opposite. Front desk was 24 hours a day with no curfew. Each bed had a full sized locker...More

thank you for the positive review.
During the summer (not every night) there are some events in the garden that end maximum at midnight, the International House of Women organizes: theatre, movies, debates etc.
This really was the best hostel I stayed at while in Italy. I was in a 4-person dorm with an ensuite bathroom. There were no bunk beds (think goodness) and the beds were made every day! That's unheard of in the hostel world! They have...More

Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable
eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.

Hi,sorry for the late response. I had to go to the central train station and then get a bus to orsa maggiore. I advise you downloading the offline map beforehand because rome doesn't havr a good free wifi network and it will be important to know the stops. From the bus stop it is about 10 min walk to the hostel. It's not a hard walk but it could take some time with luggage since the streets are made of rocks and it difficults pulling them. Other than that the hostel is near many bus stops, which makes getting around pretty easy.

Take the FRI suburban train to Orte (or Fasa Sabina) and go to Stazione Ostiense. From Piazzale Ostiense take bus # 280 and stop at Lungotevere dei Tebaldi (its close to Ponte Mazzini). Cross the bridge and the street (Lungotevere) and go down the steps on your left. You are now in Via delle Lungara and the first street on your right is Vi San Francesco di Sales. The hostel is 20 seconds from the corner.
I got these directions from their website and it was a breeze.
