Working myself in the hotel industry, this was the dirtiest hotel I have ever been. When we got to the room, there was PLENTY of hair in one of our bed, the other bed had stains on the sheets and pillow cases were dirty (as if they were dragged on the floor). All this happened around midnight. I go downstairs... More

The room was comfortable and clean. A little way out of the centre of Bologna. Only learned of "tourist tax" on arrival with no official looking documentation available to read about it. The staff spoke very little English (I don't expect this but if one of us hadn't spoken some Italian we would have struggled). They were very pleasant, though.

Had a nice clean comfortable three nights up there. Very kind and helpful staff. Clean room and nice service. Breakfast with bar good as well. Location just 20 mins max to piazza Maggiore. Bus station just next to the door. I was surprised to get a free shuttle bus service to the fiera. I will book again.... But for a... More

Lovely lakeside location on the least busy lake in the Italian Lakes region. Clean, quiet and comfortable. Superior rooms excellent with balconies literally over the lake. Food superb with choices ordered at the table, even for a group. Caring, efficient and helpful staff, charming owner. Limited lake cruiser boat service right to the door. Ideal for short break - a... Although this is priced right and using the bus you can get to most places of interest we found the hotel to be poor. The bed has not comfortable and it was the worse night of sleep we had on the trip. The room as the smallest of any we stayed in and the staff was not very friendly. I... More

We stayed at the Albergo giardinetto in September 2012, for two nights. The hotel itself is fairly clean and comfortable (although under our bed it was a bit gross), but nothing spectacular, and slightly worse than other European hotels at lower prices. Our room was a double, on the small side, with tired decor. The room came with a TV... More

We stayed here for 3 nights, and chose it for it's value for money in Bologna at only 43€ for a double room! Approximately a 20 minute walk to Piazza Maggorie. Bus stop right out the front door is great for 1 euro bus to the fiera. There was a great restaurant 100 meters to the left out the front... More

PRO's: The albergo is located just a short 10-15min walking distance from the city walls of Bologna and there is a bus stop a few meters outside. 2 buses - #14 & #25 go directly to the historic city center where most of Bologna's attractions are. The hotel is small and nice. The important thing for us is that it's... More

This hotel is situated just outside the 'old city', but it did not take long to walk into the centre. It was approx 30 minutes walk from the railway station. Our room was quite small, but was ensuite. It had air con, a minibar and a TV (no English channels). It was very comfortable and quiet, so we slept very... More
