Location was fantastic a few steps from the city centre, the room nothing special but mine was spacious enough for me and the bathroom was really nice, clean and quite modern with a great shower. Comfortable bed and with the windowshutters the room was completley black when going to sleep, beats any blinds. I had a room facing the court... More

Rooms are beautiful and clean, simple and small. Breakfast was lovely. The place is stately. It is dated but there is charm in that. If you get a room with a terrace it's definitely a bonus. The toiletries were simple, bed was comfortable, it's well situated in the city, easy to get to from train station and by car or... More

We stayed for 6 days at this hotel about 2 weeks ago. If I am not mistaken it was a convent which was converted into a hotel. It is a relatively small hotel but with a nice old fashion touch. Front desk staff were very helpful, there was a problem with our 4 room reservation, but they went out of... More

The hotel is an old palace from the 15th (I think) century, and has decided to rest in the past. All the downstairs rooms are high ceilinged with enormous portraits of 17th century dukes, etc. It would be a shame to modernise it. The rooms are a little old fashioned but with enough modernisation to be fine for all clientele.... More

We were looking forward to our stay in Modena in a 4 star hotel. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. The town is lovely and would recommend a visit but the hotel was a real let down. Initially the entrance and service at the reception was good but the bedroom was no where near four star. The bed... More

The rooms were a good size and were clean and tidy. The decor is a little tired on the corridors but ok in the rooms. The decor downstair is very unusual with murals and paintings and has an opulent feel to it. The patio area at the back is a good sized area and we had drinks here from the... More

We stayed in Modena for one night at Canalgrande. A very centrally placed hotel. The hotel is old and the interior ready for some refurbishment, but clean and well maintained. The room was spacious and the service was very good. The breakfast was good and generous as well.

Very well situated, at only 100-150 meters away of the main shopping street; a bit outdated in terms of everything, but compensating with nice staff; pretty good wi-fi connection; decent breakfast and with free (hard to find) parking lots.

This is an excellent hotel. The lobby is covered with murals and paintings. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are well furnished. The location is very central. The breakfast buffet has a good selection of items, fruit, pasties, cheese. Overall a very good hotel for a city break.

This hotel is within walking distance of all the sights. It has private parking very near the hotel. The hotel is wonderfully decorated and the breakfast room was lovely. The buffet choice was adequate if not lavish. There is a lovely terraced with an enclosed garden. Dog friendly. Only downside quite noisy air con.
