This is a lovely B&B that is situated in a quiet area outside of Parma, but very close and accessible to Parma. The building and rooms are charming, and there is a little garden and nice sitting area outside. Also nice breakfast area and good breakfasts. The owners are warm and glad to advise you on restaurants, etc. We came...

Luckily , I found this wonderful oasis near Parma. Knowing we had just spent time in larger cities I was looking for a bit of a change from that hustle bustle. I also knew I wanted to be close enough to the city of Parma to enjoy its food and culture. This was definitely the place! The rooms were spacious...

What a truly lovely hotel experience. From start to finish we had a great time. The hotel itself was impeccably clean and very thoughtfully restored. It was a relaxing environment in which to kick back and share some great times with friends. The rooms were delightfully decorated and the bathrooms fitted to a high standard. The lovely pool was a...

I recently visited this b&b with friends and was very impressed all round. The rooms were of a good size and cleaned to a high standard every day. The bathroom was lovely with a great shower. The grounds outside were very well maintained and relaxing. The best part of our stay there were the owners of the b&b. It is...

Wonderful hostess who wants to do everything to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. Beautiful house and garden. Food delicious and good quality. Outside Parma so no problems with parking which is a bonus as parking in Parma is expensive, even by London standards!

I wanted to not write this review in hopes that this stunning property will remain available in the future. That said, my wife and I had one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had, and this was our 45th wedding anniversary trip. Elena, the owner, and her husband could not have been more hospitable. My wife also had...

Elena and Pepe are a lovely couple. A beautiful family! We stayed for 4 nights and used the property as a base for a fully guided tour for 3 days. The property itself is lovely. Restored with care and attention. Nice rooms, with comfortable beds and linens. Great quality shower. Superb maid service. The breakfast was delicious! It was almost...

My husband and I had a great stay at the Villino in April. The B&B is just beautiful-- both the interiors and the grounds, and Elena was a fantastic host. She helped us make plans for our stay, including recommending great restaurants in the area and setting up a wonderful local gastronomic tour for us, and she is just an...

Beautiful villa filled with warmth, beauty and Italian charm. We immediately felt welcomed, relaxed and at home. The decor is stunning with attention paid to every detail. The surrounding grounds are lovely and peaceful to take in. Elena is a gracious and sophisticated hostess and her family is delightful as well. We had the chance to cook with Elena and...

This villa was not only beautiful, but full of real Italian charm and hospitality. Our group was spoiled by Elena's fresh baked goods, delicious coffee, fresh fruit and warm breakfast foods. We also participated in two cooking classes in her well appointed kitchen, assisted by the beautiful Paola. What a wonderful experience!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Just a few kilometres from the centre of Parma, in the small, homely village of Porporano, a young couple devised and organised this place of delightful rest. Next to the main villa, in the garden grounds, springs an old rural cottage, built in solid stone brick with a hayloft above. This simple country site has been transformed into a charming cottage for guests; 5 rooms with en suite bathroom, communal area, a large kitchen, spacious veranda protected by glass which separates it from the enchanting green. Keeping the atmosphere of times gone by with its rough walls spaced out with blocks of pebble stone in place of bricks and the dimension of the hayloft which still astonishes those who enter; the rooms where the rough wooden floor gives harmony to the colours. The owners have furnished each room carefully and with passion: with iron headboards and delicately embroidered curtains and tapestry in thick linen, once forgotten in an old trunk. The cottage of Porporano, a place where hospitality is not only a profession but a style of life. ... more   less
