The room I had was the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. The TV worked intermittently and nor were there any tea or coffee facilities.
Breakfast was a limited range buffet that felt quite sad and past its best.
Evening meals were better but for the prices charged I would hope so.
Everything feels a little dated and the rooms look a little tired. The restaurant is expensive and the choices are limited. In fact for decent food just walk around the corner to the local trucker's cafe and get a great meal for half the price of the hotel.
Now assuming you're staying here on business be warned that the internet is very unstable. It will drop out multiple times, which is incredibly frustrating if you're trying to work remotely while staying here.
On the plus side the staff are friendly and helpful.
Clean hotel but very dated. Ideal for an overnight stay on a long journey but really needs updating
The room overlooked the car park at the front of the hotel but car parking is limited there, but there is additional car parking to the rear of the hotel. You can also park in their basement car park which is more secure but this will cost you 8 euro.
The room was basic but comfortable, no tea and coffee making facilities. We arrived on a Sunday evening and was a little surprised that the restaurant was closed, so we had to drive out into Piacenza for dinner. from the hotel, this is at least a 10 minute drive. Not what we wanted after driving 600 mile that day. (note to self, check that the hotel restaurant will be open when booking)
When we got back from eating out the receptionist did open the bar and serve us a glass of wine each when asked, but we got the impression this was not to be repeated as she then disappeared back to the reception desk and looked busy.
Breakfast was the traditional continental with a good selection and as much tea and coffee as you wanted.
Overall this hotel looks and feels like it caters for business travellers rather than tourists, but if you only need it for a bed to sleep in whilst travelling though Italy its not bad. Would I stay here again? Probably yes, but would check that the restaurant is open first and it would only be for one night.
You will find a decent gymns (always a plus for myself) and a simple but free sauna.
Together with the hotel there is a decent enough restaurant, but you'd better off asking directions for teh Trattoria Barbarossa.
The personell is very friendly and helpfull, they do speak several languages and, in fairness, they are the real plus of this hotel. They were able to help me out with everything: from the battery charger to find out the best mechanic to fix my car.
Overall is very well recomended.
We paied 85€ per night breakfast included. Rooms are nice fairly big. There is wireless LAN but you have to pay for it.
A good thing is that they have a SPA free of charge in case you want to rest at the end of your day.
Breakfast is good and they offer continental buffet breakfast included in the room rate
"Car park is both at the front and rear of the hotel. best car parking is at the front and ask for a room overlooking this car park."Read full review
