We went to Riomaggiore by car from Portofino. Pre-reserved parking place was perfect for our 2-day stay. Steep hill can be disadvantageous for the people who have bad condition. Apart from that location is good. There is no proper breakfast but there is coffee, bread, croissant, jam, yoghurt in the room/fridge. Therefore, you can have your breakfast in the lovely...

We came by train. The site is located up hill at roughly 15 minutes ascending walk. Accessing is demanding but you could always take a bus that will bring you just beside the B&B. The breakfasts were taken into the room. Explanations on Cinque Terre were provided. The room facilities were great. The place is really quiet at night. We...

Great location, super clean, lovely rooms, really friendly and helpful owners. We have stayed elsewhere in Riomaggiore but this is the best. Its a short walk down the hill to all the restaurants with the benefit that you can park you r car next to the hotel or if you come by bus - it's right next to the bus...

Francesca, the owner, is a delight. This is in a perfect location if you drive to Riomaggiore, as parking is available. In addition, because it is at the top of the hill, it is away from the noise and hubbub of Riomaggiore at night. Finally, there is a beautiful patio with lots of seating for relaxing and sunning after a...

After our miserable stay in Venice, L'Arcobaleno and Francesca were a breath of fresh air. The room is clean and spacious for two large bags, the bathroom is clean and obviously well maintained. The lobby is quite clean as well, it's clear that they take great pride in their property. It's located at the top of the hill in Riomaggiore,...

I go to Riomaggiore every year and stay here all the time. The location is ideal and the people there are wonderful. Rooms are comfortable and most if not all have a private patio. Excellent value too. Room is stocked daily with water, assorted pastries, orange juice, yogurt, etc and there is a coffee machine making whatever kind of coffee...

We love staying at L'Arcobaleno and Francesca (the owner) always makes us feel very welcome. The rooms are very cosy and clean, the location is great as you are away from the crowd. Yes, there is a small walk up the hilly village centre, but this is Cinque Terre - there are not a lot of flat surfaces there:) Rooms...

If you are in Volastra stop in here. When you first come in town you may be tempted by the first restaurant on the Main Street but turn down the road and come here. I would highly recommend the seafood spaghetti. Staff is friendly and food is fresh. Also, they have free wifi which is hard to find in this...

Riomaggiore itself is not at all car-friendly. There is a barrier at the top of the main street to stop cars entering. So if you have a car you should stay at L’Arcobaleno affittacamere at the top of the main street. They have undercover parking but you should book it in advance as there is limited space in the garage....

Friday, 18 September 2015 Riomaggiore, L’Arcobaleno affittacamere A perfect location for car travellers There is only one narrow and steep road in and out of Riomaggiore. It is a dead end road down a long steep hill. When you arrive, you will be confronted by two boom gates, with nowhere to park in Rio. If you are staying at L’Arcobaleno...
