after several weeks back in sf, mantua seems like a dream to me now, along with this bed and breakfast place. this place is indeed a palazzo, high ceilings and antiques, huge windows and a fabulous bathroom. the hosts, Claudio and his mother, were very gracious and the stay here was simply a delight. oh yes, mantua was also a... “Palazzo” is not an exaggeration. This is an amazing, beautiful B&B with frescoed ceilings and fine, architectural details. The owners are a delight, very helpful, and the breakfast they provide is awesome. The city of Mantua may not have the high-profile visibility of other tourist spots in Italy, but it is a wonderful, vibrant town. Absolutely worth a visit. And... More

we stayed at the Arrivabene for 3 nights over a long weekend last spring and were given a warm welcome by Claudio, the host. Claudio guided us to our parking space(parking is very scarce in Mantua!) and showed us to a lovely spacious room with a large ensuite bathroom. Breakfast is fabulous with homemade pastries and good coffee(essential for me!)... More

Mantua, a city of such style and grace. Palazzo Arrivabene, simply diving whilst being a B&B with a very personal touch supplied by the owners. Mother & Son...Luciana & Claudio. We stayed for three nights in the Arrivabene, traveling with friends so the 2 couples both enjoyed a very comfortable, convenient and stylish stay in Arrivabene. It was an absolute... More

we stayed for 1 night (much too short for this beautiful building and this city!). entering this palazzo is a bliss: grand staircase, high frescoed ceilings, different living rooms in an enfilade (free to use for guests), the marvellous smell of woodsmoke from the open fireplaces ... beautiful. good bed and very quiet at night, ensuring a good nights sleep.... An unbelievably beautiful, luxurious and elegant place run by the truly lovely Luciana and Claudio. We felt absolutely privileged to be here. When we tore ourselves away from the beautiful rooms, we found ourselves right in the middle of Mantova, well placed for everything, yet in a quiet street with no noise or disturbance. What else can I say? Excellent... More

First, I have to thank tripadvisor and all the contributors who write reviews. Without this website, I don't know how we would have found this place! Second, I have to thank the Bini family for being so kind, gracious and helpful during our stay. You made our trip a memorable one. We have learned through our travels, to really experience... More

We could not have had a better experience. Luciana was incredibly gracious and provided an exquisite breakfast. Our bedroom, the Camera degli Sposi was so perfect we never wanted to leave. All of the superlatives in the other reviews are well deserved We would return to Mantua just for the opportunity to stay here again.

Probably the nicest place we have ever stayed in. The palazzo has retained its original charm and the current owners did a magnificent job in decorating it with eclectic accessories and furnishings. Mother and son run the palazzo and they are very accommodating. The mother whose English is limited is very charming and elegant in a Grace Kelley kind of... More

We had a great 3 night stay at Palazzo Arrivabene in September. Claudio and his mother Signora Bini are very gracious welcoming hosts and their home is truly beautiful. Walking up the grand marble staircase to the first of three interconnecting magnificent spaces with wonderful ceiling frescoes transports you back to an elegant period of the 16th century. The second... More
