Despite some confusion on check-in, we enjoyed our stay at Casa San Domenico and would highly recommend it for visitors to the underrated Mantova. We were looking for a stopover between Venice and Milan, and I came to the conclusion that Mantova probably lose the stay over visitors to Verona. The result would be the lack of accommodation options in...

Yes, this was exactly what I was looking for: special, non-forgettable experience. It is not standard, although not exactly convenient, but beautiful. - very frindly reception - very favorable location. - shops and restaruants are next to the house - city parking garage is 5 minutes' walk away - you can drive to the hotel door, which is not always...

Once we finally found the hotel, down a very narrow lane way, we were taken to a secure parking garage around the corner, to park our car for 15 Euros per day. Arrived with a reservation for 3 people. Was told the reservation was only for 2 people. Once I produced the papers, the wife hurried in a frenzy, rushing...

Hotels in the old city are mostly rather pokey and claustrophobic – and often suffer from noisy crowds at night. So we chose this wonderful, spacious apartment, just five minutes from the town centre. It was superb value for money because, for the price of a hotel room, we had a large sitting room, fully equipped kitchen with dining area,...

We spent two pleasant days in the suite "Le Arpie". Everything in the house was nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. The host and his wife, they really do care about their property and about their guests, and they do it very efficiently. Le Arpie consist of a normal-size elegant room looking at the back, with a very good bed and a...

We received a very warm welcome & nothing was too much trouble, from advice about what to see & where to eat in town, to a very early checkout we required to catch our flights home. We stayed in a junior suite, which was very well appointed, with a comfortable living room & separate bedroom. We would recommend Casa San...

After arriving home we got a traffic ticket from the Montova police . We picked our hotels carefully with parking included in the Veneto , knowing that the police are voracious in issuing traffic tickets . We used a GPS to get to the hotel left the car their with them and used the GPS to go onto Verona the...

We spent two nights in September 2015 at that fantastic place in the middle of the old town of Mantova. It is a beautiful old town hotel managed by Cico. This man is just unbelievable: He helps you in every situation with a perfect smile on his face!!! Though in the heart of town it is extremely quiet - even...

On the last evening of a 10-day trip through Italy, we stayed at the Casa San Domenico. We arrived by car and were accompanied by Cico, the charming manager, to the garage about 150 meters away (secure - we left baggage in the car). The hotel turned out to be about 5 minutes' walk from the main sights (Palazzo Ducale...
