We booked here last minute as there was an issue with the other hostel we booked. We were in a mixed 4-bed dorm. The room was pretty clean and not too cramped and it had a bathroom attached as well. Sleep quality wasn't great as it was quite loud from outside and it got cold with the AC on all night and only a sheet to cover you, but that could just be me. Every bed had a box to put your stuff in that could be locked and unlocked with the fob attached to the room key which was very handy. There was an outdoor space with tables and chairs so you could sit or eat. The staff were nice and friendly as well. The hostel also had Wifi which seemed very reliable for what we needed it for. The location was perfect; a Lidl round the corner, a few minutes walk to the metro station and then a couple of stops on the metro and you're at the central station.

I stayed in a 4-bed room with a private bathroom at MIO HOSTEL and had a pleasant experience overall. The room and bathroom were very clean, with daily cleaning and fresh sheets and shampoo provided. The playroom and terrace were nice spots to relax, with multiple games and a TV available.

The location is excellent, being near the green line which connects to major attractions in Milan. While there was some noise, it wasn't particularly bothersome.

A couple of downsides were the lack of electrical outlets and the inconsistent presence of staff. However, these were minor issues in an otherwise enjoyable stay.

Our room was dirty. The receptionists weren’t friendly at all. Very standard, old room.
The breakfast was horrible too. For the price we paid we expected a bit more. Luckily we didn’t spend much time in our accommodation. At night time was also loud. Not much sleep we had.

Best hostel I have ever stayed in call my staff were very lovely and helpful especially Brian. The food was really nice and they give you a free breakfast and a free meal in the evening and you can have as much as you want. The bedrooms are very comfortable and clean with fresh linen on them. They give you extra towels if you need them and nothing was too much trouble

If I could give this hotel a -1 out of 10… I would. This was the worst experience me and my best friend have ever been through.

First and most important: The photos they use for advertisement are completely false. Do not trust them.

The “hostel” (if you can call it that way) is located in a not so nice neighborhood (wouldn’t recommend arriving at night). When you arrive, don’t panic, the front desk is not as bad as the rooms, so don’t start panicking like we did. Save it for later.

Rooms? Yeah, small, old, our was dirty and we had to spend the entire evening enjoying the sweet smell of stinky feet (because the room only had a small window from which the air doesn’t come in, so the smell did not come out either). We know the smell is not the hostel’s fault, but just be careful if you are choosing one of the shared rooms because you never know if you will enjoy the company from other people (one of our roomies, for example, was drunk, arrived at 5am and got naked in front of my friend and me before going to sleep)

The air conditioning was not working and the beds are particularly small.

When we went to the bathroom to brush our teeth and we ran into a full-of-puke sink… yeah, nice.

We wanted to check the showers before going to sleep so we could have an idea of what to expect in the morning… basically we’re walking down the streets of Milan without showering. There was no way for us to get in those dirty showers

Thank goodness we just had to spend 6 hours in that place. This “hostel” needs to be shut down.

Mio is simple, yet perfect for city explorers. The dining area is fabulous, with free food for breakfast and evening meal!
The rooms were simple and very clean, with toilet and showers being located close to rooms, which were also clean.
The building itself is abit like a renovated office block, so many doors are fire exits into different parts of the building. (Weird at first but it makes it very airy).
The receptionists were helpful and very polite.
The outside area has chairs and perfect to mingle with others!
I would highly recommend this hostel, however walking from the centre is 30 mins at least, but a train station located 5 mins from the hostel is perfect to shoot right into the main square.
It is also next to a lidl (5min walk) which was perfect for us to buy our own food occasionally.
The aircon in the rooms isn't great, but the rooms are big so not so bad.
If you want simple, necessity driven accommodation that has no frills just what you need this is the place to stay.

I stayed at this hostel with a friend as we were passing through Milan. We arrived at 1am and my reservation had not gone through online. The people at the front desk were nice enough in helping us secure two beds in a shared room but had first insisted that the only thing available was a "private room" for over €120. We insisted on two beds and were given the two beds. The facilities are clean enough given it is a hostel but it feels almost sterile and jail-like. It took us a good five minutes to figure out how to open the door to the room, very confusing! We entered our room and it reeked of body odor, feet, and sweat. We carried valuables with us and the provided lockers in the room had a sign that said "do not store valuables in here" even though we were given an individual key for the locker. Again, very confusing! The bathrooms were an experience in of itself. The dressing area is the bathroom and there is no soap provided to wash hands after using the facilities. We were lucky we had toilet paper! We explored six different bathrooms (including on the ground level) just to find soap. We went to the front desk and were told soap was not provided! The beds were extraordinarily uncomfortable and we had to make it ourselves. Overall the only good thing is that check-out is at noon and there is a nice outdoor courtyard and communal breakfast space.

Rather unusually, I opted to stay at a hostel rather than an apartment/B&B with my girlfriend (hostels are not her thing), and it turned out to be a great decision. We shared a twin room for a night which came to a total cost of £60, and included a buffet dinner and buffet breakfast. Therefore cut the costs of an expensive meal in Milan. The food was pretty decent and it’s the most I’ve eaten in Italy as they just kept filling it up! It’s an easy walk to the metro too - about 7 minutes. The room is extremely comfy, and the private bathroom is great for hostels too.

My experience was not the best, the staff are not friendly, the room cleanliness was not the best with a huge spider hanging off the ceiling, and the food was bad.

The internet was really poor, and we couldn't stay in the outdoor area at night.

I had to change hostels after 3 days.

About 7 mins walk from Lambrate FS (M2) just four stops from Milan Centrale. Good value for money - €62 for three nights with free breakfast and dinner in a 4-bed dormitory is really cheap. Spacious rooms and good lockers. Clean showers as well. Cool common area, free WiFi but could get slow at times especially when there are a lot of guests hanging around the property. Definitely will stay here again
