Stayed here for one night in order to explore Milan. The apartment was nice and clean and included a small two burner stovetop, refrigerator and microwave. There were also basic dishes and saucepans though no skillet. If you're staying for multiple nights, this was great and you can take advantage of the two butcher shops seconds away. Would need to...

We were due to stay here in July, after booking our stay in January. We arrived after a long day of travelling, to be told they were overbooked and that we would be staying elsewhere. Marco was extremely rude to us, trying to push the blame onto us, as he said he sent us an email with our new hotel....

At first the graffiti may throw you off but this is in a good location overall. Marco is a genuinely caring person who went beyond our expectations of a good host. Not only did he help with our laundry, but once it was finished he brought it to us!

We stayed here in May 2013 with 2 young children. Very nice location and nice room at a good price. Very near trendy restaurants and canal. 20 minute nice walk to the Duomo. Marco - the owner was very accommodating and let us check out late due to travelling the time we were travelling to Lake Como. Great place and...

It looks a bit rough area, from the cctv street cams, but it is only a few metres from a tram line which takes you right to the centre in about 10 minutes. There is a nice cafe where they serve excellent breakfast rolls and coffee. The apartment is basic but adequate, and very clean.

Great short stay, room clean, bed comfortable, shower great, quiet in spite of being close to bars, restaurants and the canal. The kitchenette is small but adequate, and the air-conditioning efficient and welcome after a day treading the pavement. Marco was a delightful host, welcoming and helpful - nothing seemed too much trouble. Would definitely recommend for a short stay.

We stayed here for only one night as it was a pit stop for us. We were happy with the apartments - they were clean and spacious. But the location didn't give us a warm and friendly feeling. Graffiti all over the walls throughout the neighbourhood, including the kids' playground nearby. We felt safe, but it just wasn't a beautiful...

I was on holiday with my family for a few days, and i think this is a place that represent a good solution between hotel and appartment. Infact you have the freedom of the appartment, but with services and treatment by the owner, that you do not even get in a hotel. Location is brilliant, near underground station, and city...

Rules and more rules, seemed friendly enough but lists of rules and penalties everywhere. Noisy street needed earplugs. No fire notices or alarms. Very clean but basic, will not return. Close to Navigli and canal area but not really central, 20 mins to Duomo by tram, 7 stops on metro to central station. 15e taxi from central station. Nice little...

My partner wasn't happy in this YMCA building walking around alone. 4 of us stayed in 3 rooms but it is mixed with noisy residents and other private owners and hirers. The staff and general apathy is miserable and cold. Very expensive and too much hassle. We won't return.

Staying in Navigli

Neighbourhood Profile
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.

“The door was a little hard to find. Our navi took us to the street of a side door and you need to go around the corner and down the street for the main entrance. Hotel is a little loud as it is off a main road, ear plugs would be helpful. To cook, bring a skillet and dish soap and you'll be all set, no problem finding awesome ingredients.”
