The Best Hotel - Milan / Italy.
Via Benedetto Marcello 83, Stazione Centrale, 20124 Milan, Italy.
Simple and affordable hotel near Milan city center. Official category 2 stars. We give a strong 2 Star. 1 night with discount (includes breakfast) 50.00 euro. It could be a few euros cheaper.
Good hotel for those arriving late. Located near the railway and bus station. The hotel has a nice private backyard where you can spend your free time and also serve breakfast. Breakfast was simple. There is also some minuses. The pillow is terrible like a stone. Last time there was no hot water either.
Our Rating:
Price 6/10, location 7.2/10, room 6/10, services 6,5/10, cleanliness 6,8/10, breakfast 7/10, coffee 6/10, wifi 7,7/10.
Total Rating; 6,6 / 10 Satisfying

The Best Hotel? Well, frankly no! It doesn’t come close. I know Milan is expensive but this hotel is just about average. I was only in Milan for one night and was arriving late so I didn’t want to pay £190 to stay at the same hotel as when I was last in Milan. Last year that hotel (at exactly the same time of year) was £90 with breakfast. A combination of Covid and Brexit I suppose.
The Best (nowhere near) Hotel was very dated, the furniture in my room was circa 1970s and the breakfast was limited and poor! On the plus side it was only an 8 minute walk from Milan Centrale and it had a nice garden.

Extremely noisy, we heard every word from the reception and all people going in the common areas, doors like paper and the elevator sounds like it would crash any minute. The noise from the elevator wake me up everytime it was used.
Hard beds and breakfast very weak.
Cheap but i would gladely pay some euros more to get a breakfast with some more ingridients.

I needed a stay for 2 days om my way to Greece, and I was surprised by skyrocketing prices although it was "a prime season" with a lot of rock concerts and fairs. The Best Hotel saved my trip with acceptable price and great amenity. (My usual choices must be kidding with prices they offered me...)

This 2 stars hotel is in fact 3 stars (they could reach a star or two more just with a fridge or a cooler, but they have reason for being such modest).

I like the terrace with a view on Via Vetruvio and Via Benedetto Marcello.
There is a writing desk in the room. Hotels in Milano introduced new kind of sockets which prevent heavy electricity consumption. I had this problem last year for the first time in another hotel. Here you can by an adapter for it at the reception for only 5 e.

Reeption is open 24/7, and lovely Lidya is so helpful.
I can commend the elevator, which is so spacious that you can easy put a big suitcase in it.

In the breakfast room there is a charming Cuban lady who will make coffee for you (if you are nit happy with already made Americana), and he likes easy listening Latino music which fills the room.

Metro station Lima in Corso Buenos Aires is just a 20 meters away.

Very pleasant stay. Next time I would try to arrange my travel so that I could spend here more than just a 2 days.

Beware! The desk attendant by the name of Bree or Brynn has to be the rudest most careless employee there! If you ask for anything you have put her out. She’s the ONLY employee who I saw doing NOTHING other than the rewriting the sign, holding the counter up while playing on a personal cell phone and ordering the young man working with her around.
Another patron was asking for clean towels while this employee could not have been more rude to her! The employee never gave her towels but made up excuses, stood silent and lectured her. Another patron who had just checked in brought the woman towels from his room.
If you are thinking about staying here, plan to bring your own towels, toiletries and an attitude to match the front desk attendant.

Simply the worst experience I've had with a hotel. We were asked a covid negative test certificate right at the entrance. We provided it even though we didn't have to, and the owner refused it because it was an antigen test done at the airport and it was not italian (written in English). He basically threw us out of the hotel, at 8PM... and obviously without reimbursing the stay.
It is sad to take advantage of these time to scam people.

I usually don't loose time to put negative review for dirty rooms and noisy environment. But then we just indicated to the owner the room was quite dirty without asking anything, he said we were free to leave if we weren't happy with our room. Quite unbelievable arrogante attitude.

Stayed in the “Best Hotel” for one night to explore Milan for the first time, check in was smooth and staff were very helpful. Room was great as well as the location being not far from the Duomo. Breakfast was also great with a nice selection of pastries. Great price too!

I liked the location. It's 5 minutes walk to Milano Central railway station and Lima metro station. Duomo is 4 metro stops away. Or, you can walk to Duomo in 45-50 minutes through Corso Buenos Aires and Corso Venezia which are lively shopping streets.

In front of Milano Central railway station, there is a bus stop for Malpensa, Linate and Milan-Bergamo airports. So, staying near to Central Station is going to save your time. The best hotel can be a good choice.

The staff were debonair, friendly and helpfull. I sent the hotel an e-mail before I arrived, and told them I will arrive at 12 am, kindly asked the room to be ready. They sent me back and said they would make their best. Thank you again.

One negative comment is the room is small, breakfast is basic, but adequate. If I go to Milan again, I would stay there.

When you arrive at Milan Central Station, go out the station, turn left, when you see the taxi station, you will see a wide street which is Via Scarlatti. Walk in the right side in the street, when you see Via Marcello, turn right, walk few steps and you will arrived at the hotel.

Obviously wasn't expecting much, but I was expecting a clean room. The floors had hair on them, the shower was old so looked filthy. There was also some draining issues in the drain of the shower which was gross, but great pressure in the shower head... In our room the window was also broken and the hotel isn't in a very good neighborhood. It is about a 5 minute walk from centrale station which is nice, but there are many homeless people in this area. The staff didn't help us very much but there was only one man at the front desk alone so I felt sorry for him. Breakfast was basic but the girl who was helping with breakfast was fabulous and upbeat.
Don't order the pizza to your room go out to eat.

No hairdryer in room, to tell you the truth i also stayed in Hotel New York in Milan a couple of weeks later and it was a better hotel to stay in for around the same price and across from Central station, no hairdryer either but i reckon if you asked at reception they would find you one, also there is a hair salon downstairs that i went to and they were really good and reasonably priced so i would go there for a blow dry I did....
